Check out Don Cesar Hotel, they are right on the beach.  I am getting married in St. Pete Beach next year.  We are using http://www.tidetheknotbeachweddings.com to coordinate everything.  We will be having a small wedding on Pass-A-Grill Beach. Dinner reception is to be decided but likely will be at a local restaurant.  There will only be 20 of us.

ETA: When is your date?  Ours is May 6, 2017.

Hi, we were actually looking for the exact same thing in the greater St. Pete area. We had a ton of trouble finding somewhere that allowed outside caterers in general, most places do have the ‘package’ deals on the beach. We liked Honeymoon Island and Beach House on Anna Maria, but both of those cater through themselves. We considered renting a pavilion at Ft De Soto but decided that was a little too casual.

We landed on the Edson Keith Mansion in Sarasota. It’s on a river, so we did compromise on getting married directly on the beach, but we are allowed to provide our own alcohol and bring in an outside caterer.

Clearwater Beach Community Center

Davis Island

St. Pete Community Center?  (I think that’s the names of them).

These were suggested by my wedding planner.  We wanted a venue that was overlooking the water but not on the beach.  Unfortunately I can’t help you with actually beach locations.  So many of them are hotels and will require you to cater through them.

I would suggest my venue but it’s really high over your price point.  (I really do hate how much we are paying for it compared to other places).  They do allow outside catering though for everything and the ceremony/reception are right at the same location.   However, it has beautiful waterfront views that are second to none.

Clearwater Community Sailing Center – they have a banquet hall and allow outside vendors. I don’t know how close it would be to somewhere for the ceremony though.

The Grand Plaza Beachfront Resort in St. Pete Beach hosts beautiful weddings but may be out of your price range.

One of my friends also looked into the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center Social Hall. You can have a ceremony on the intercostal (so not really a beach but still waterfront). She ended up having her ceremony in her hometown in Central FL, but that is a thought.

jeankay33 :  I actually didn’t mention the Grand Plaza LOL.  The next poster did.  That’s a nice option though with the floor to ceiling windows but yea it’s a hotel so you have to cater through them.

jeankay33 :  We had the same thought when we looked at beach houses, but Beach House is a restaurant on AMI that actually has pretty good deals as far as weddings go ๐Ÿ™‚

Other places you might like are the Dali Museum which is sort of walking distance to some of the beaches in downtown St. Petersburg and allows outside caterers.

Or the Gulfport Casino. I’m assuming you’re familiar with St Pete? So Gulfport is about mid way between downtown and St. Pete Beach on the water. I used to live across the street from this one in a condo. It’s on the intercoastal as opposed to ‘open ocean’ so you can see across Boca Ceiga Bay to Tierra Verde, but it’s on a beach, fairly inexpensive to rent with, allows outside caterers, the whole shebang. I can personally vouch for great sunsets there if that’s something you’re after. I’d for sure check it out

jeankay33 :  I’m assuming the Grand Plaza would require you to buy food from them, yes. I have a family member who works there! It may be outside of the budget (it would be outside mine if I got married in FL!). Good luck with choosing!
