I am having some trouble deciding on wedding colors. I have two main themes that I love, but I keep waffling back and forth between them. Fiance is no help as he just wants me to be happy and, frankly, he doesn’t care as long as it’s not ugly (his words). What do you think? I love the purples because it is soft and reminds me of a watercolor painting for some reason, but I love the fuschia and navy because it is so preppy and fun! My concerns are that purple is really common and perhaps overdone and that the fuschia and navy is a bit too much oomph. I know, I confuse myself, too.
Fuschia & Navy
What do you think?
Here are pics of the venue:
Reddish patterned carpet, but in the dimmed lights it’s not as noticable.
ALSO! I live in Florida so October is still kind of warm. Not really the typical “Fall” wedding.

@Nurse_Bee: Do you have any pictures of the venue or know what the venue will look like? I only say that because the pink could seriously clash depending on the venue. I personally like the first set of colors though.

I like the purples for a fall wedding. Navy and fuchsia says “summer” to me.

@bmo88: I have to agree with this. What does the venue look like? Have you picked your dress yet? What is the overall style you are going for? I have changed my colors a million and one times because of these factors.

Either could be beautiful! My wedding colors were purples (but we incorporated a few pops of magenta/fuschia in there too), and so I think you have chosen very “sane,” flattering and classy palettes in either case.
So, to narrow it down, let’s get practical. Do you have a ceremony and reception venue yet? You may want to hold off on the color decision til you know the space that you’ll have to decorate. If you have venue(s) already, think about which colors will work best in that space — both for the actual colors and the “feel” of the palette (dreamy and romantic vs. preppy and bright).
Presumably you’ll be wearing white — so let’s think about the folks who will be wearing these colors! Do any of your potential bridesmaids look terrible in any of the colors that you’re thinking of picking for dresses? Is there one of those colors that everyone looks fantastic in?
If you have purple dresses, what sort of flowers do you think you’d like? (We chose dark purple dresses and lighter purple flowers, fyi.) If you have navy dresses, would you have fuschia flowers? Are there flowers that you particularly like in that color? If you have fuschia dresses, what sort of flowers would you choose?
Hopefully thinking about some of this will help. 🙂 I think the big question is what kind of “feel” you want for your event — the more soft and romantic purple palette or the brighter, more “fun” navy and fuschia. (Not that you couldn’t have “fun” purples, but you know.)

I love the purple, but then, it’s the colour I have as well, and to be honest, I don’t really care that it’s popular, It’s what I like, so you need to decide what it is that YOU like, and go from there what makes you go OH WOW!!

I love them both could you not have purple, navy and fuchsia

Good questions guys!
Here is the venue (only pics I have).
Veranda (where the ceremony will be held)
Venue (reddish patterned carpet, but in the dimmed lighting it’s not as noticable)
Do you think the fuschia would clash? Or would the purple not go?

@Soon2BD-CBee: You inspired me to make this! The bottom right flowers being the main color inspirations. Purple, fuschia and navy 🙂 Thank you!

- Wedding: October 2013 - Temecula, California
I more partial to the Fuschia and navy colors. Only because the I love the way the Fuschia pops out with the navy.

I really love the purples and greens of the first palette you shared. My BFF’s sister had a similar palette and her wedding was gorgeous, here’s a couple pics:

Fuscia and Navy—100%.
I loathe the color purple, it seriously gives me a headache—I know it’s everywhere (and I don’t get why, but that’s another post)—sorry purple-loving bees. Just my opinion.
But your fuscia and navy inspiration board is adorable!

I don’t particually like the lilacy colour, I’m doing dark blue for my wedding, possibly with yellow?
SO I love the dark blue idea, although, the purple and pink idea nurseb posted are great colours, and work great together!

I didn’t vote because I LOVE inspiration board you put together for all 3 colors and think that’s the way to go! That’s usually my answer to questions when I can’t decide between 2 things anyways…why not buy both?? GOOD LUCK!

The purple palette seems more elegant and the fuchsia and navy feels more fun. So it depends on the look you are going for. My vote is for purple. I love the examples the bees have posted.
