I am only 5 weeks pregnant. My daughter is 13 months old. A friend gave me their swing when my baby was born. Now another friend is having a baby so she (the one who gave me the swing) asked if I could pass it on. I want to keep the swing for my unborn baby, but I’m so newly pregnant that I don’t want to tell her why I’m keeping it, and I can’t quite say my baby’s still using it, as she’s kind of too old. Plus she will just say how about in a few months?
Please help. What should I say to her?

I didn’t think clearly, obviously. Maybe I can pass it on and ask for it back when my baby’s born. I don’t know when this other person is having his baby though. Hopefully it will work out.

I think you should pay it forward like your friend did for you, and let her have the swing

I would pass it on….. if some one has a baby now by the time your baby is born they would pretty much be ready to stop using it. It would be wrong to hold onto it when it isn’t being used just so that when your next baby is born they can use it…. worry about borrowing (or buying your own) things when the baby is closer to coming
