I think the engagement shoots with my wedding photog cost 350-400, if that helps.

Whoa..  only $300 back?  What is the said photog’s standalone esession run for?  Did the photog’s esession carry the proofs, album, and shooting time?  Other photographers baseline price for esessions might not be the best to compare with this ones since they all vary.

What does the contract state on cancelling, you mentioned earlier, that you did get one though looked like a receipt more than anything else.

Legitimately you should be getting back 50% or everything minus the retaining fee.

300 for this- The E-session was supposed to include proofs, album and shooting time and a 2nd photographer.  Either he is really lowballing or he is giving you “50%” for this portion.

I don’t know the details, but most albums from reputable labs are $200 and up depending on size, number of pages, type of pages, type of binding, type of covering.

Is there an extra charge to get the entire album of proofs? If yes add in that price.

Did he pay his 2nd shooter?  If the 2nd was only starting out, than the 2nd shooter probably wasn’t being paid.

So basically, $300 is the bare minumum only covering the album.  :/

I know a TON of established photographers in the LA area. Are you just wanting a Bridal session?

I am SO sorry your having such a rough time! i wish I was closer to help πŸ™

my $300 is for engagement session time only, no album. The album is $350

I feel so bad for you!!

That stinks that there is no contract. Maybe call the BBB?

As a photographer the worst thing that could ever happen to me would be for my clients to be un-happy. I always do everything I can to make sure they are pleased. I work so hard to keep a positive reputation, can’t believe this person is being so careless with theirS!

It is a pity that my cali wedding photog friends are in the bay area.  :/

I am quite curious to why his esessions are so low while his “wedding” packages are really high.

I wish you luck on your boards!
