Hello! I have tried loads of dresses, I was originally drawn to mermaid style dresses, & tried on this princess style ballgown and fell in love! But I love the elegance of the mermaid dress also. Opinions please?! Thanks! Xx

The ballgown is stunning! The mermaid is fine but nothing special, in my opinion.

The princess by far. I made a sound when I saw it

I’ve always felt mermaids aren’t bridal to me, they scream evening gown not bridal moment, is not sure what you’re going for. that ball gown is lovely on and I’d much prefer that over the mermaid.

Ballgown ballgown ballgown! It’s so pretty and romantic and flattering (hello waist!). And when will you ever get to wear a ballgown again?

Thanks everyone so far!! Seems like the ballgown is the most popular 🙊
I just keep seeing images of dresses like these pop up on my Instagram or Facebook and find myself longing over them, but they’re most likely way out of my budget! 🙈
I love that style of dress with the lace train spread out, it seems like it would photograph so well
But who knows whether it would actually suit me..

togetherforever18 : That mermaid… <3 I voted for that one. Ballgown is nice but you have the perfect figure for the mermaid.

Not loving the ballgown. Your figure looks amazing in the mermaid. 🙂 But go with whatever you love most. No one has to wear it but you.

togetherforever18 : you look great in both. I chose the ballgown because you fell in love with it. That is what is important to me, if they are both in your budget, they both look great on you, then just follow your heart and how you feel when you are wearing it. Personally I liked the bottom part of your ballgown. The mermaid look good as well, it just there is nothing special about it (as a wedding coordinator, I seen lots of mermaids like that so I may be biased).

You look great in both but I kinda think your figure looks amazing in the ball gown! Your waist looks so tiny. I adore it but I’m a petite ballgown girl myself 🙂

Thank you so much all of you for your input!
I think it’s just difficult because style wise they’re are complete opposites!
I was thinking, maybe it would be an option to have the princess ballgown for my wedding dress & a mermaid gown as an evening reception dress instead (maybe not white but that shape?)
Also the difference in price: ballgown is just under £1000 cheaper than the mermaid if that changes opinions(!)

Love the ball gown on you!! It’s beautiful!
The mermaid shape is nice on you too, but I’m not loving the one that you’ve shown us.

These are 2 other mermaid style dresses I’ve also tried on xx
