Here are a few of our DIY engagement pics. They were taken at the reception venue exactly 1 year from the big day! We were told from strangers, they look super unprofessional, etc…but we love them. They were taken by some great friends and we had such a blast taking them! Good Luck!!

We did a few DIY wedding photos for our civil ceremony. The advice I can give is 1) try to relax and have fun 2) if no one is helping you take the photos, use a camera remote – NOT a timer 3) take a series of photos in one spot, as many as you can, then review them and see what works best and do it again.
You’ll get a lot of duds, but you should also get some good ones if you are taking a ton of photos. We used a timer, and it was really frustrating.

Hey there! We did our try at “fun” engagement pictures at home and then had pro pics done at home. I love both sets of pictures, but we wanted to take some photos that most photogs would not feel inclined to add to their portfolio.
We used a black sheet in our living room, a camera with a timer and a lamp for extra light haha. We had a BLAST! Words of advice: take some inside photos on a timer, and then have a friend or family member take a few outside so you have a change of background.
