You are very welcome!!!

I am now seriously thinking about going into the wedding planning business. I think that by doing my own wedding and by what I have learned here that I would be good at it.

Great tips, thanks! I especially like the one about mapping everything out…that will be very helpful for us. And your dress is gorgeous by the way. Congrats!

@ccranetobe: Great tips!! I am planning to write a post like this as well. I really wanted to wait until I am able to post my photos, but I think the tips themselves are so helpful to brides….this might be a bored work project today!

I agree, that as many drawings, sketches, written instructions that you can give to everyone working on your wedding is extremely helpful.

The manager at the event center thought I was crazy, but never had a single question.  I gave him the following things:

I gave him a sketch of a typical table.  I showed how to arrange the napkins, favors, centerpieces, how many candles (even though he decided to remove half the votives from my sketch…grrrr).

I gave him a sketch of the head table (in plan) showing where the luminaires went, the candles, our vases for our bouquets, and gave him the name of where each attendant was sitting so he could get the name cards in the right places.

I gave him a sketch of the escort card table.

I gave him a list of our signature drinks & how to make each one.

Along with all that we brought all our favors prepared, cookies for our dessert table, all the alcohol, and all of the “stuff” for the tables.  Walked him thru it all and everything was perfect.  My only complaint was that he didn’t use half of the votives I wanted him to.  He said it would get too hot in there… well turn up the AC then! Ha.

6. Laugh went some idiot yells DON’T DO IT just about when you’re starting the ceremony from a passing car. Expect if you’re going to have your venues outdoors and public for something like this to happen. We laughed and it set the tone for the most upbeat day!

My Dad does this! Must be an Aussie thing.
