My long time boyfriend suprised me last week by taking me ring shopping (yay!) and I know he’s getting ready to buy. We’ve since exchanged a few emails on settings and wedding bands, diamond specs, etc. but mostly I’m trying to keep to myself and let him do his thing – I know that making it perfect and a surprise is important to him.
In the course of our emails, he mentioned that he’s worried about picking out a stone online (at a site like Blue Nile, for example) because he can’t see a picture of the actual stone prior to having it shipped. Today I discovered (thanks to other Bees posts!) that James Allen lets you view a zoomed-in picture of the specific stone you’re buying. I feel like he would want to know about this, and that it would make buying online more comfortable for him (he wants to buy online for the lower prices).
BUT. I don’t want to be bringing the topic up too often, I don’t want to seem pushy or nagging or obsessed over it, haha. I want it to be his domain.
So, what would you do? Thanks for any advice!

@she_might_be_modern: But you’re not bringing it up… he is. Respond to the email with a link to James Allen.

@she_might_be_modern: Sending a link so he can look at stones sounds helpful not pushy. It’s not like you’re nagging him about it 😛

I think you’re good to share this info, just don’t keep asking if he’s checked the link out yet or anything XD *not that I think you necessarily would*

Thanks for the advice!! I did what you all suggested; emailed him the link.
I’m just new at this, so it’s hard to know where the “line” is!

@she_might_be_modern: I continue to struggle with this and am in the same boat you are! Good luck on your engagement ring journey! I’m sure he’ll do a fantastic job picking it out!

@she_might_be_modern: We love James Allen, they are great. We bought a diamond from them , even though we decided to return because we found a better deal from a local jewler. Their diamond is exactly what show up in the photo.

I would just casually email it to him, say hey good morning handsome I heard from a friend about this website where you can actually view the stones zoomed in or even just mention you heard it was a reliable place for stones and im sure he’ll figure out the details himself. just say thought you might like another option. hope you have a good day at work, see you later.
whatever whatever… that way its casual and a logn convo cant really come out of it and you wont feel like your nagging.. now if you do that every day. yeah .. nagging.

I’m glad to hear they are a reliable place!
I emailed him and said something similar to @gpsp2B: ‘s advice. He didn’t bring it up when he got home, which is probably good (means he wasn’t annoyed! haha) so now I just have to shut it up for a few months (weeks? days? who knows?! ahhh so exciting!)
