I think the red gowns with black gloves are fine, but why the veil? That would be a little much for me.

Red dresses and black gloves ALWAYS remind me of En Vouge.

I’m really showing my age with that one. lol Yeah, but I think if you give them some sparklely bracelets to wear over the black gloves then it will look awesome. (just like in the video) The veil to me would just be too much. Maybe give them a floral hair piece instead?

I have NOT seen anything like that and too be honest it sounds a little costume-y to me. Have you picked your dress yet? Perhaps if we saw your dress it would explain the direction you are headed in. Or an inspiration board? I like Miss Tattoo’s idea of doing a floral hair piece. Or you could do something like a feather and pearl fascinator… I don’t know just my opinion.

Good luck!

I’m with Tattoo. I think the black veils are a bit much but its your wedding so go with what you want. I did a google search for ‘red bridesmaid dresses with black gloves’ and this was the closest I could find:

This actually came up 1940’s silver screen glam. So it can work. You just have to make it not look like a holloween costume.

@tifanijai: ha ha ha. As soon as you said red dress with black gloves I thought En Vouge.

I still wouldn’t give them actual veils. I don’t think birdcage veils came until after the 30’s or 40’s…I’m going to have to look that up. When I think of old Hollywood, I think of 1930’s and art deco.

Here are a couple pictures.  I figure if Marilyn Monroe thought it was pretty then it is do’able!

Ahh I kind of get it now, I actually like the veils if you’re going to be having a more elaborate one. I think paraols would be fine. Will the gloves be lace?
