I’ve heard it’s easier finding a setting and then the stone vs. the other way around. They probably know they have people over a barrel.

I’d agree. Easier to find a setting. And to work with an independent jeweler. Any re-setting shows coming around soon? You can always call and ask.

Have you looked at online vendors? I’ve seen online jewelry stores that sell only the setting, but they will make the setting to the dimensions of your moissanite. Some will set the stone for you if you send it to them, but there will be a setting fee ($75.00-$125.00 is pretty standard for a setting fee).

finnrose:  that’s very reasonable… David will definitely be able to make one for you, I’m sure. you just tell him what you want to stay around price wise. He will keep in that price range for you. I’m still waiting for my second drawings from him. I check my email a lot! LoL.. Do you have a pic of what you’re thinking you want him to make??

finnrose:  that’s a really pretty ring… Do not feel guilty about getting that stone!! And, you never know, David may be able to make that ring for less than $700… Wait til he gets your quote. He should have that soon to you.

Check Adiamor.com. I got my engagement ring and wedding bands from them. They had amazing customer service and the best prices we found. I made the most out of my budget there. They altered a style they already had to fit my emerald cut diamond just the way I wanted.

finnrose:  If you’re looking for a simple setting without stones, you should be able to easily find it for under $700. Or did you mean you wanted the entire ring for $700?
