I walked down to Alanis Morrissette’s “Head Over Heels” played by our pianist. The lyrics are very indicative of my feelings for my Fiance, thus why we chose it. 🙂

I’m walking to Vitamin String Quartet’s version of a Paramore song, Hallelujah. It’s gorgeous and soaring and definitely says “Here I am!”

You can check this link out for some reasons why you might not want to use “Here Comes the Bride.”

We used Handel’s La Rejouissance (Music For the Royal Fireworks).  Our complete ceremony music (with videos) can be found at this link.

I find the Bridal Chorus to be a bit cheesy, due to its heavy use in movies and television, and not the most beautiful piece of music I’ve heard in my life by a long shot. I walked down the aisle to one of my favorite pieces of music in the world, the theme from Holst’s “Jupiter” from The Planets. It starts at 2:53 here.

There were many times when I listened to that piece and fantasized about walking down the aisle toward my husband and just melting with happiness, and the reality was just as amazing as I’d hoped.

I walked to  an instrumental version of Blackbird by Luca Columbo http://www.ilike.com/artist/Luca+Colombo/track/Blackbird?src=onebox

I’ve got a lot of compliments for it and while my husband wasn’t picky about not doing Here comes the bride, he was pretty picky about making sure it was a good song. This worked well for us.

If you are looking for a really song (versus classical), I really like “Here Comes the Sun” by the Beatles. It’s really upbeat and you can draw so many metaphors to the Sun – the bride, the marriage, the happiness of the union, etc.

I am walking to: Hymne by Vangelis. We are having a harpist and a flutist play during the wedding. I can hardly wait.

I am practicing listening to it because it makes me cry…
