Ok, I have to tell this story! I had my son with a previous boyfriend. When my Darling Husband and i were hanging out in the beginning, it was probably like within the first 5 times he came over to myh house, I had my computer up and a picture of me came across of when I was pregnant iwth DS. I looked at it and said “oh gosh, I was such a whale”. He looked at me and said “whats your excuse now?” HAHAHAHA! Its just his personality, and I love him for it, (and he was joking of course!), but it has stuck since then! I really did look like a whale, I gained a LOT of weight!

I was one of those pregnant women that everyone kept asking, in all seriousness, if I was having twins. It got old quick! But really I just had ONE, very large healthy baby! Now that they see her everyone tells me she’s well fed πŸ™‚ Just a polite way to say she’s a chunky monkey. It’s good to be big though, I have friends who are smaller and they were always measuring small and worrying that their babies weren’t growing. At least I never had that problem!

@zippylef: They totally are! And if I had to look like a whale to produce this super cuteness, than so be it!

My Darling Husband, who is the most supportive and kind man ever, did the following when I was in my ninth month…

We were emptying the dishwasher and I dropped something, which rolled under my feet and I had to back-up as I was bending over to pick it up.  It was at that moment when I was struggling to breathe and reach the floor when I heard “BEEP BEEP BEEP”.  You know, like when a bus backs up?  He thought that was the cutest thing ever.

But, it’s definitely all worth it when you see that sweet baby!

@artbee: what a cutie! totally worth it!! πŸ™‚

I’m feeling LARGE these days… feet totally swollen, can’t wear any shoes. Some of my maternity pants are even tighter than they were. I’m retaining so much water in my legs/feet. It’s not even funny.

9 more weeks!

@Rosie Girl: and @jjmomma: – I would probably kill DH if he said either of those things. I have like zero sense of humor when it comes to fat jokes, especially when made at my expense. (Yeah, I know, I should get over it.)

This is honestly a vanity thing that is concerning me about getting pregnant in the future. I’m a little afraid of what being that big will do to my self esteem. I like the idea of focusing on the outcome (squishy, snuggly baby cuteness) rather than the unfortunate side effect of becoming big and puffy yourself.

@jjmomma: Although that elicits a little giggle when you read it, I think a swift kick in the butt would have been totally appropriate in the moment!!!! Tongue out

@HopingToBeaMama:  I could’ve killed him!  I know he was teasing all in good fun, but not in the ninth month, you fool!!  πŸ™‚

@Bubu82:  Pregnancy was actually the most healthy and beautiful I have ever felt!  I felt so connected to the changes taking place with my body and definitely quite proud of this amazing female body of ours.  It was more amazement at what we are capable of than about the extra weight itself.  I felt more feminine than ever before.  Especially once you’re feeling that little life moving around, the focus really isn’t on yourself anymore.  I have a whole new way of looking at my body now and it helps me accept whatever weight I’m at and forgive the imperfections.  The last month is tough and you just want to have the baby already, but by then it’s almost over!  πŸ™‚
