I think people are probably hesitant, particularly if their guys picked their rings out, because they love their guy and the effort he went into picking it 🙂 But… my husband would never read this (I hope! lol) so I’ll share that there is ONE thing about my ring that I don’t love. My husband did a great job of buying what he knew I wanted (solitaire with diamonds in the band) but I was not specific about how I wanted the diamonds in the band. The way the diamonds are set into my band is weird… I think it is called bead set? It’s weird because it isn’t like prong set diamonds where there is no metal on either side, just the prongs. And it isn’t like channel where there is a solid channel of metal with diamonds side to side. Instead it kinda looks like the diamonds are just squished into the middle of metal (to me)… and that is not my most fav thing. But I don’t plan to do anything about it. I love that he picked this out, and just bc it isn’t *exactly* what I would have picked out doesn’t mean it needs to be changed at all.

Love my solitaire but not “in love” with my band because in most lights my band looks really dark. But in well lit areas the color does show. Also, I orderd it online and at the time I did not think the stones would look “that big” against my solitaire. I wear a 3.5 so it is hard to tell how big some things will look on me. So yes, I am doing something about it. I orderd another band and will hopefully be getting it soon-ish….

Love my ring but the center stone is round and I’ve always preferred cushion cut. My own fault though as I picked it out with him. The setting came ready for a round stone so even though I preferred the soft square look of the cushion I went with round(we didn’t really have time to  wait for them to alter the head to hold a cushion as we got the ring while on vacation).  I am planning to change my stone to a moissy cushion cut and place my diamond in a necklace.

Mine’s not so much a dislike but more of a kinda, “why?”

Just for some background, my fiance designed the ring with our jewler and I was shown the CAD images.

There are diamonds going up the underside of the cage (I believe its called) but I think they’re really necessary since no one sees them. Also, since the diamonds are there why didn’t they continue them around the underside of the cushion cage…  Regardless, I love my ring and have no plans on changing it.

I don’t have anything I don’t like about my ring. However, that is my second ring so I got EXACTLY what I wanted.

My solitaire had too thin of a band. It was about 2mm. I didn’t like how the band tapered upwards. The stone was set too high and always caught my hair. The side profile was dull.

Now it’s perfect. 🙂

This is the solitiare:

I love my ring, but I’m always a bit upset that the diamond is quite badly chipped around the girdle because my grandma wore it every day for over 64 years.

You can see the wavery edges in this photo.

My ring looks like this (but much smaller center/side stones)

Sorry about the huge pic and while I love my ring and would never want or ask for anything else it’s not really like the ring we went and picked out together. Which looked like this

The baguettes were something I had really wanted, he even took a picture of the ring I liked. He insisted for a while that the ring he bought me was the one I picked out, I don’t know whether he was trying to convince me or himself, either way I had a pic to show him (on his own computer that he took) that was not the same ring. He says he likes the one he picked for me better anyway. So I guess if I could go back in time I would emphasize how much I wanted baguettes. I feel really ungrateful writing that.

I picked my own ring, and it wasn’t supposed to be ‘forever’ anyway since it’s CZ but there are certainly things about it I’m not in love with.  It’s hard to see, but the edge around the halo isn’t smooth or flat, it’s very wrinkled / wiggly.  And, as much as I like the details on the profile, it makes it stick out wider on the sides than I would have liked, because it looks weird with certain bands.  In the end, it’s absolutely not what I want in a forever ring (though it was good practice) so I am doing something about it.  When we upgrade our wedding rings to palladium (or sonner if I have the money), we’ll be getting a forever ring in a style I originally picked out.

Sorry the picture is sideways, but since it is a square you can still see what I am talking about!

my e-ring- (I took bands off to make it more visible) The halo is not a perfect square, if it were rectangle it wouldnt be a big deal, but its smaller on one side than the other…. if that makes any sense?

I’m not going to change it. I’m not perfect, so I cant expect everything else to be perfect..

Also, sorry for the huge pic!
