Good morning/afternoon/evening ladies!
I’m sure you’re sick of all my ring posts so I promise that this will be my last jewellery-related post (for a while ;))
If you remember from last week, I posted a thread trying to help my dad choose a ring for my mom’s birthday present. Since then, he’s found a few more rings that he thinks she’ll like including the peridot one below. The list keeps growing and I’m getting nowhere helping him choose since I think they are ALL beautiful. Please help me one last time bees! P.S. I’d love to hear why you like/or don’t like a particular ring.

Oops forgot to add the dimensions –
10mm Mystic topaz set in yellow gold
9 x 7mm Peridot set in yellow gold

I like the cut of the peridot better than the topez. And peridot is my birthstone 🙂

Honestly, I can’t decide. Both are gorg!!

@MrsDeco: Go for the peridot.
Mystic topaz is colorless topaz that is coated to give it that color change phenomenon. The coating can be easily scratched, and you have to be very careful with chemicals, washing hands, etc. From my own interactions with gemologists and jewelers, they really don’t care for it and I imagine it’s not without good reason.
Besides, that color of peridot is absolutely stunning. 🙂

@arsing89: I like the cut too and there’s something so magical and special about peridots so of course I’m jellly that it’s your birthstone 🙂
@GFerg: Haha you summed up what I’ve been feeling to a T! Which is why I am asking all you lovely bees 🙂
@MrsVanilla: Thanks for the information, I never knew they were coated. It makes sense now, why they are so affordable. I never understood how something so pretty had such a great price tag… now i know 🙂

I prefer the peridot, too!

They’re both pretty, but the peridot is my favorite!

Thanks bees for voting!
@mypinkshoes: She wears a lot of neutral tones and also a lot of black. Do you think the peridot would be suitable? I thought it might add a nice pop of colour 🙂

i like the mystic topaz, highly dislike green.

Peridot gets my vote, so pretty!

I love the color of the mystic topaz but the size, shape, and setting of the peridot. I’m no help, LOL.
@MrsDeco: I love blue and yellow gold so I would probably go for the first one until I read that comment about it being coated. For durability I’d go with the Peridot. Either way they are both beautiful.
