@greenidlady:  Okay, I am a newbee and still trying to figure out how everything works. This first gown is a Maggie Sottero I believe. I like the sash and sweetheart neckline and train on this one. However, I didn’t feel like I had much shape in it. The second dress is Essence of Australia. I liked this dress a lot but was looking for a something with lace. The shape was great on this one. The third dress was Ian Stuart I believe. I liked the different shape of it but a little too modern for my taste. The last one was a Kittychen dress. I loved this one when I tried it on but since we are getting married indoors and in March now I sort had a change of heart towards something more traditional.

Wow all the pics are beautiful! I wish i went dress shopping etc, but my Maid/Matron of Honor lives in a different state and we can’t catch up till a week before my big day. So i took a chance and bought one online from China! eeeek! i love it! thank heavens! i only have a pic of the model in it though.

@_Krystal_:   I love this dress, if you don’t mind my asking, which dress of Lazaro’s is it?

I could seriously try on dresses all day.  I found my dress on the first shopping trip and was a little bummed I wouldn’t get to keep trying on dresses.

My experience at DB was horrid…pushy consultant who was never around when i needed her to help me get out of the dress, kept bringing dresses in the wrong size, wouldn’t listen, and just kept trying to tell me I should pick the first dress I’d ever tried on.  She kept bringing a bunch of other dresses to me even after I said I only was interested in a couple of the White by Vera Wang dresses.  Plus, she wouldn’t let me pick them out.  So frustrating.  And she was rude to my nana.  I was so turned off by the whole experience.

The salon where I bought my gown was amazing.  I got to pick the dresses I wanted to try on, had my own private fitting room where my mom, nana, and Mother-In-Law could sit, I was my consultant’s only bride in that time slot, and it was just such a relaxed setting.  I had such a blast.

Here was my dress journey:

DB White by Vera Wang…too poufy, too young, and just all wrong.  Plus, my mom, nana, and Mother-In-Law hated the fabric on the bodice.  And the consultant told me I’d have to wear a slip otherwise the tulle would stick to my legs…true if it’s polyester, not silk based.  Overall, just no.

I loved this Lazaro but it was just too much dress, plus it was blush and my Fiance had his heart set on me getting a white or ivory dress.

A couple of others, just for fun but not serious contenders:

This one had a Swiss dot pattern on it and was really cute but the material was really stiff and it made a ton of noise when I moved.

Pretty dress, wrong shape for my long waisted self.

This dress was so soft but the waist hit me in the wrong place.  And I had my heart set on a tulle gown.

The dress I picked but before the skirt was customized.  It had pockets which was a cool detail but it wasn’t tulle.  My consultant saved the day when she said that the designer was very open to making changes.

And after.  I couldn’t be happier with it and can’t wait to wear it in just 2 short weeks!

Hey Fellow Bees!

I don’t post often, but this post was just too fun to just browse this one.

I went to a TON of stores-I will post my favorite photos-some were contenders, but i am also going to post “UHHH No!” dresses.

Sadly, I don’t remember the designer of most of these dresses.

The above picture was a CLOSE contender-I felt like a princess!
This above dress was number two on my list…The front is beautiful…but the back….

…Is not so great. I felt like a had a bubble butt.  It looked great with a bustle though, so I would have just bustled it for the entire wedding.

That would be UHHHHH no dress.  It looks great on others, but not on me!

And then to announce..My beauty: Mori Lee 4863:

Two of my Bridesmaid or Best Man and I went to a local shop just to see what dress styles would look good on me, went in the middle of the week and while I was out running errands so please exuse my lack of make up and bra straps ha ha!!!

Bridesmaid or Best Man made me try a mermaid, but I didn’t really like it (and Fiance hates mermaid dresses) plus all that tulle was kinda itchy! It did nothing for my figure! I have four kids and still have some decent curves, I wanted to show them off LOL

Then we tried on a dress with lots of rushing….wasn’t in love with it or didn’t hate it, didn’t think I should be indiferent about my dress LOL

I had walked in the store thinking that I KNEW I wanted a lace dress, but the lace reminded me of a table cloth that my grandma has so this one was not working for me, I was laughing about wearing a tabel cloth, and saving money in the pic.

They made me try on this one….I refer to it as the Garden dress def wasn’t me!!

This dress reminds me of Scarlett in Gone With the Wind and I was Loving this dress!!

I really liked this one, but something was holding me back, but it was up there!

Then we found this one, I liked the curves I liked the beading, didnt like how it hung there but with a slip it looks amazing, that was it it was mine, I put the deposit down that day and never looked back, ha ha found my dress in one day!  Plus appearently it is a discontinued dress and they only had one sample left that fits me to a T, so I got it half off, but I think it looks timeless so who cares if it was designed two years ago!

Private Label by G it is a limited edition dress from two years back, so my shop only had this one sample left thankfully it fits me.  I have seen a lot of their other dresses though, and some are very very similar to this dress!

These are dresses I actually bought.  There were several more contenders.

WTOO Sorella.  I didn’t like the fact it was polyester and discovered this after buying it.  It’s still sitting in my closet.  I almost wore it as my second dress but it had to be taken in too much so I didn’t want to touch it.

I loved the Lasara so much I bought it but I finally had to admit that it didn’t look so good on me.  I don’t even dare post a picture of myself in it.  I sold this to a happy bride.

Dress #3 was Jim Hjelm 8917.  Also not posting a photo of myself.  I loved the pockets and was convinced I wanted pockets but this just looked like a tent on me.

Dress #4 Vera Wang Ethel.  I wore this for pre-ceremony photos and for the ceremony.

Dress #5 Melissa Sweet Gigi.  I can’t seem to find a photo of myself standing.  (You can see my Versa Spa tan peeling off.)

@tuscanbride:  “It got to the point where I could literally look at a dress and name it’s designer, it’s style number or name, and the collection it was from.  Sick, right?”

Yup – I got there too. What was the name/designer of your last dress?

had i not been so set on ball gown this would have been it! – sometimes when I feel dress regret- I think about this  dress and wonder! and then came this dress- now… I loved it. It super flattered my waist and I almost thought it was the one – but it was over my budget- so i kept on looking with this as my go back to dress- 6 stores latter I finally caved and went to davids..

Here’s my journey!

#1- Mikaella..I bought this dress but then our venue changed and I sold it!

#2- San Patrick Eresma..loved this one but it looked more like a destination wedding dress than a winter wedding dress

#3- Casablanca, didn’t like this one at all

#4- Enzoani Casablanca, this was a CLOSE contender but I wasn’t sure I was a “lace” girl

#5- Liv Harris, a Boston designer. Loved this dress but all my friends disliked it!

#6- Paloma Blanca..liked this one but it wasn’t “the one”

and lastly, #7 the winner! My Alvina Valenta
