I’m just wondering if any of you out there have hosted your wedding reception at the Heritage Hall in Vancouver? If so, what did you do for drinking glasses at the bar? Because there is no dishwasher on site we are thinking that renting enough glasses to serve 150 guests throughout the night may be difficult so are now thinking we may have to go with plastic cups. I would prefer not to use plastic cups for a couple of reasons; it is horrible for the environment and I’m worried it will look tacky… If you did rent glassware, who did you rent it through?
I would greatly appreciate any help that you can provide!

I looked at Heritage Hall and loved it! What a great venue!
Usually if you rent glasses you can return them dirty so you might want to check with rental companies on their policies around that. Our caterer is takng care of all of the rentals of dishes/glassware etc…are you having your reception catered? I think we end up paying a bit of a surcharge but they take care of all of it.
We are actually using plastic cups at the bar. It isn’t very environmentally friendly but it is budget friendly so I had to go for it. Our wedding is a carnival theme so we can kind of swing it but I definitely shared your concerns. It saves us a couple of hundred dollars. We are having wine glasses and water glasses on the table but any bar drinks will be in plastic. Otherwise you have to rent several glasses per person and that adds up quick! And really, if people are going to complain about my plastic cups I don’t really want them at my wedding!
Hope this helps!

Thank you so much niffers! It looks like we are going to go a similar route and will be renting water and wine glasses but doing plastic cups at the bar. Solo Cups sells plastic cups online in bulk in many different colours (https://solocup.alice.com/). We are looking at getting the Navy blue ones for the bar to go with our wedding colours (my final grasp at making it look less like a frat party!).
Thank you again!
