I wish I had advice because we had this issue too. Darling Husband changed his major 4 times, and then decideded for both our sakes to drop and go to tech school because this 4 year  college thing wasn’t working for us. He has to realize that he can’t just do whatever he wants because it affects more than just his life now, and he has to come to a decision on his own. Its sooo hard, but you nagging to get him to do stuff he doesn’t want to do makes everyone miserable (believe me!!) and if he decides to not get his butt in gear and do it, then it does affect you both but really, if he doesn’t want to do it, you trying to make him will not help do anything but breed resentment from him and stress you out.

OHh girl, I totally get it. I love Darling Husband to death, he really is super smart, but growing up was diagnosed as ADHD (which I can see but he has “grown out of it”) and it was a total crutch to him not having to do as well as he could in school type situations. And now I JUST discovered the auto training program he was going to get into ONLY starts in the fall and requires a $3500 tool set, neither of which he ever noticed because it wasn’t something that was that important to him to focus on! I could wring his neck sometimes! But I learned after several turbulant months of me trying to get him to pass classes, it isnt worth it. He decided to get a full time job and not be in school for now and as much as I really wanted to be married to a PhD or something, it isn’t him and I have to accept it! I’ll just be the Doctorate in our family! We can totally be MR. and Dr.

@Olive12:  That does not sound fun at all! My Darling Husband would be the same way. Hugs your way!

Hi all! I’ve been lurking for awhile, but I had to join just to respond to this point. I so can relate to you. I have been with my boyfriend for over 3 years, and we are both seniors in college right now. Getting him to graduate at our private liberal arts school has been its own job I feel like. He has frequently told me he lives for me, and that is why he keeps trying in school. Looking back, freshman year I should have told him to quit and try a tech school or community college. We have finals next week and one more semester, so hopefully we can make it through! I have a job lined up for after graduation, so now it is just up to him to pass!
