My FI runs on what I consider to be no sleep too.  Although he doesn’t eat much junk.  I think maybe some people just require less sleep than others. :

Hmmm, it’s quite possible you just need more sleep than he does.  If you really are that tired by the time you get home and feel like you shouldn’t be, maybe go in for a doctor visit or something and make sure it’s not something else.

Planning a wedding will do that to ya 😉

Seriously though, emotional or mental exhaustion is probably what’s doing it to you because let me tell ya, I feel the same way ! 🙁

i agree with curly sue! He might just not need as much, and you need more. I need way more sleep than my DH. He wakes up an hour before me.. I wouldn’t be able to get up at the same time as him unless I went to bed hours before my typical bedtime.

If you don’t think this is true, check with a doctor – it could be something worth checking out. I’m super tired and exhausted lately, but I know it’s b/c I am stressed about work.

Seriously – I don’t know how they do it! I’m exhausted all the time! I get up before my husband at 5:30, leave by 6:30 and don’t get home until 6:30. I know my commute plays a part in my tiredness, but he gets up shortly after me! I just don’t understand how I’m so tired!!

Are you younger than he is??  I’ve noticed that age/how mature your body is correlates a lot to how much sleep you require.  I used to sleep up to 15 hours a day in college when my body was REALLY going through a lot of changes.  My husband requires more sleep than I do and he recently gained about an inch in height and he’s only a year younger than I am!

But I’m no doctor…so that’s just my theory!!

My DH and I had the same issues as youand your FI, last year, expect he was the one who was always tired and I was always awake. He also is in great shape, gets plenty of sleep, eats healthy, everything but still every night by 9 he would be completely exhausted.  He ended up going to the doctor after I prodded him a little and it turns out he had two things going on, he had some mild sleep apnea and also some problems with his thyroid. The doctor put him on two meds and it has seemed to help him a lot. Not saying that you have anything going on, you may just need more sleep than he does but it can’t hurt to go to the doctor to make sure there is nothing out of wack.

@MrsPinkPeony:I swear we must be twins, I am always exhausted and he is never tired.  We were actually just talking about this about about a half hour ago.  I don’t understand it!  I eat healthy, exercise, get 9+ hours of sleep a night and am always tired!!! He eats junk, only exercises when I make him come with me, and sleeps less than 6 or 7 hours a night..it is not fair. Maybe I am just in a phase, I hope so cause this needs to stop!  As the others have said, I would check out a doctor if it continues and is irregular for you.  I am giving it one more week, trying to go to bed earlier and waking up earlier ( just shifting my 10 hours of sleep) see if that makes a difference.  Good luck!

I dated a guy like that. It made me crazy because on the weekends when I wanted to take a nap (if I actually had time to take a nap) – he would always try to wake me up and it PISSED me off! Leave me alone! I’m tired.

That said – maybe try B12 vitamins. You could have some sort of deficiency as well.

part of it is probably him disrupting your sleep since he has odd hours making you MORE tired. but it’s worth going to a doctor to have it check out if you’re still really tired with more than 8 hours of sleep.

IANAD, but one thing I’ve noticed is most of you have exercising going on… about a few months ago, I was going through the same thing. I had “healthy” lifestyle habits, but it just resulted in me being tired and sleepy. Now, I’ve got a job with really odd hours and high stress and I’m like a darned owl until 3 am when I KNOW I should be sleeping…
