I am really starting to worry about my fiance. He is continually saying he is fat and working out excessively. I am really starting to worry. He says he wants to look good for me but I have told him time and time again that he looks great! I don’t feel like anything I say matters to him in this regard. What would you do if this was your fiance? Thanks so much.

Oh man, reminds me of my fiance too. Hes toooo preoccupied with the gym — and LOVES working out. no matter what I tell him, he still constantly believes he can improve.. Also my Sisters Boyfriend or Best Friend is CONSTANTLY also at the gym becuase he too believes hes fat. He was a fat kid once and it took a toll on his personality now. So he thinks he can NEVER go back so he over does it. Maybe your Fiance is afraid of letting himself go because of past experiences.. it could be his own weight in the past or even close family members or family who are/were over weight?

Compulsive exercise can be a serious problem. If he’s a healthy weight and still acts like this, he should probably see someone for counselling.

@[email protected]: Me personally, I would ask to go to the gym with him and try one of his workouts to see if there is really reason to be that concerned. If it is excessive in any area: intensity or time, I would go with him and encourage him to seek some professional help, because it is probably linked to a much deeper issue.

Sounds like my Fiance. He hadn’t stepped on a scale in a few months. And I’ve been trying to lose. Not really TRYING. But if it happened. That’s great.
He almost cried when he saw it say 200. He’s 6’3″. I think that’s okay. But he was upset. So I guess we’re going to start eating healthy… *rolls eyes* that’s no fun. He got me a kitchen aid.
