I know some people think wedding themes are juvenile, it’s not a child’s birthday party…blah blah blah…but I had one and I thought it was tastefully done. I think themes are great because it’s easier to match everything for an overall cohesive look. My wedding was based off Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream…

Our guestbook was a scroll and on the receiving table, we had glass cloches with items related to the play inside. We also hired statue artists, ballet peformers and caricature artists. Here’s a sketch from one of our guests..

And some florals…

We called our theme a “Whimsical Garden Wonderland.”

I don’t have any pictures to reference as far as a theme goes (I’m not so fond of Pintrest), but the general aesthetic we’re going for with our reception is something between Bilbo’s birthday party from Lord of the Rings and hillbilly barn dance ๐Ÿ™‚ .

Well that was impressive! The flowers are just stunning  and iirc  you had a most beautiful bouquet too. . l am also impressed at the planning and creative vision which must have gone into it .

PS  l’m curious how the two people dressed Victorian era costumes fitted the theme

@elderberry:  Thank you kindly!! Oh the statue artists LOL! Here’s what happened…the production company was told I wanted them dressed like fairies. Something like this…

They were shown this photo from one of their past events and I wanted these exact costumes…

But I did sign a contract stating in the event that the costumes I specified weren’t available (or something to that effect), they would replace it with costumes that were as close as possible to what I was wanting. And I guess all they had were the Victorian era costumes! yell

So funny. But overall it was just so lush and delicate at the same time , beautiful. I remember a shot too of you and your husband, both of you with beautiful hair streaming down your elegant backs …
