i really depends on your guests and their appetites. i know mine and FI’s family like to EAT so when preparing we need to make a lot lol. are you doing a hor’devores reception or an actual meal type thing? alos depends on how many guests you have. as a general rule assume kinds will eat 3/4 the ammount as an adult. also its always better to have too much food than not enough

I think caterers generally estimate 4-8 pieces per guest for appetizers.  Have you tried googling it and seeing if there are any websites that would help you in estimating the amount of food you’d need?

It really depends on so many factors.  If this is cocktail hour to be followed by a meal, then you’d need less than if this is the only food there is.  Also, if it is the only food, how long are people going to there?  We all know that everybody meanders back to the food tables more at longer events.

My suggestion would be to go to a grocery store that makes these kind of things for events and peruse their books.  They’ll typically show a picture of a veggie tray with a suggestion of how many it’s supposed to serve.
