@MzJynxie:  None of this says regal to me. Regal makes me think of class and elegance and this stuff is all pretty gaudy.

Personally, they are beautiful but a bit uptight for my taste. I want venue to be beautiful but party friendly. However, it is your day!!! Make it all YOU want it to be and don’t worry about everyone else.

I agree, not a fan of the regal/royal theme (actually, of theme weddings in general, but that’s just me). I do like the colours though, gold, silver, reds and purples could be really nice if done tastefully. I would avoid the tiara and throwns etc. though as it’s a bit over the top. People will be looking at your because you’re the bride and groom, no need to go too crazy.

@MzJynxie:  They’re quite fun to attend! I love getting dressed up! And having Southern family a part of me likes the bigger affairs. =] I myself will go with something much more smaller!

@Nona99:  Exactly what I was thinking!

Some of those pictures are quite lovely, OP.  Lots of rich jewel tones always seems regal to me.  I would avoid the thrones though….

ETA:  Didn’t even look at when this thread was originally posted….oops.

I think it can be beautiful if done really well, with VERY good quality items. a tiny bit less great quality, and it looks cheap

I love the theme but tbh I didn’t quite get it from the pics you posted. Other than thrones and monogrammed napkins it all looked pretty standard wedding to me.

I like this as inspiration, but I wouldn’t go for a LITERAL King and Queen theme. Rather, a King and Queen inspired? I.E. Lavish, rich colors, velvet, silk, etc.

You need David Tutera! This looks like something he’d throw together 🙂 Have you gotten his book for tips?
