- Wedding: September 2012
I’ve been lurking for about 1 month and finally decided to make an account! I’m 23 years old, my better half turns 25 at the end of the year. We had our first date Nov of 2008- he asked me to be his girlfriend on New Year’s day, 2009.
My better half has said that he’s proposing by Dec 31st of this year. He’s been driving me crazy doing all of the research for the ring and referring to our wedding and acting like we’re already engaged. In fact, at our friend’s wedding this past Labor Day, my better half’s college friends said that one of them should get married every September for a reunion, to which my man replied, “We’ll do it next year! September! It’s on!” Minutes later, I caught the bouquet and he caught the garter 😉
As for the proposal, he says he has a plan, but I know he doesn’t have the ring yet. We’re also looking at buying a house right now, so I have plenty to keep me busy. Not to mention, I’m getting my Master’s degree, working part time as an office assistant, and substitute teaching. Between homework, weekend trips to visit friends, work, and seeing homes with a realtor, I barely have any time to think about the impending proposal.. but I somehow seem to be finding time.
So.. to end on a question… how much planning do you think is acceptable before a proposal? My SO rolls his eyes and smiles when I show him links to venues but says he doesn’t care what I do as long as I don’t 1. Visit wedding places without him 2. Pay for anything.
