Welcome! Have you considered the finger lakes area in upstate New York? It’s a beautiful area that might also make a great honeymoon location.

I have stayed here: http://www.watkinsglenharborhotel.com/ and I would highly recommend it. I know they do weddings too. There are also plenty of other towns and venues on the lakes. Let me know if you’d like more info.

Edited to add: I’m not gay, so I can’t say for sure that they are LGBTQ friendly, but I’d be very surprised if they aren’t. It just doesn’t seem to me like the region’s style to be prejudiced.

another great resource is http://www.gayweddings.com

I hope you don’t encounter much homophobia or negativity in your search and planning. My gf and I haven’t come up against any!

Best wishes… 🙂

We got married in Massachusetts, so I don’t know a whole lot about Connecticut or New York venues.  One thing I will say is that we had no issues with vendors being homophobic.  The vast majority of them, particularly in states that have legal same-sex marriage, realize that same-sex weddings are just more potential business for them.
