My wedding is October 15th and my girls are wearing Amethyst.  I’m having a hard time with centerpieces, too.  I want to do a fall theme but I don’t want pumpkins and leaves everywhere.  Plus, that doesn’t really match with purple!

I love the idea of donating money…we are doing that instead of favors.  I have read some articles about it and a lot of brides wish they would have done it, too.  So many of them say they spent a lot of money/time on favors only to see dozens left behind from guests.

When donating money, I read that brides shouldn’t say how much was donated or say that it was in the guests name.  Some people find it tacky.  Instead, it suggested simply saying that instead of favors money was donated to the couples favorite charity.

Good luck!

@KIKI25: We’re date twins ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m doing eggplant purple and burnt orange…with sprinkles of antique gold. Our centerpieces are going to be half branches in vases and half something else…haven’t quite figured it out yet. Good luck!

I’m getting married Sunday OCtober 9, 2011!! SO excited! I’ve already finished my STD’s and bought my dress. My centerpieces are birdcages, with 3 pillar candles. There will be tons of lace wrapped votives for a romantic, vintage feel. My maids are wearing black dress, and my junior bridesmaid is wearing champagne. Our bouquets will be fabric,lace and feathers. So my colors are black and champagne, and my dress is ivory.

I’m October 21, and my centerpieces are going to be more eclectic/vintage, with old books and candles.

I’m so excited to see how beautiful it will be in October with all the changing leaves, it seems like the day can’t get here fast enough, even though with all the DIY I need as much time as possible. ๐Ÿ™‚

And I love the suggestions about donating money instead of favors, I’ve actually been thinking about that because I’ve never used or kept the favors given at the weddings I’ve attended, and then it’s for a good cause!

wow, I am kind of behind as well. I am not sure about my centerpieces or favors. Luckily I know that our main color is going to be a crimson and we will have accents of purple(thinking an eggplant shade) and brown and it will be a rustic theme. I am not going to use a lot of pumpkins either, but maybe some brown leaves. I still have so much to figure out…

I feel like I’m behind as well. So far we’ve decided on Navy Blue, Grey, and Yellow for our colors. We are planning on having non floral centerpieces with Lemons & Blue Berries. We’ve also booked the venue and have caterer & cake tastings set up for next month!

@rocky.omar: We haven’t decided if we are going to send them out, but I heard that 6 months is the usual timeline for sending them out–so you’ve still got time! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m October 29th.  We are doing charcoal gray bridesmaid dresses, with green and white hydrangia for bouquets.  Below is the main centerpiece and we are going to do the same flowerrs around the bottom of them to coordinate with the bouquets

As for favors, we haven’t started but the Fiance wants to make some kind of pepper jelly (he’s an amazing cook) and can them in mason jars.  I of course will add some cute-sy lid or label to match with our colors.
