I’m 5’0″ and felt like most wedding dresses were overwhelming my small frame.  I didn’t want anything big, and was drawn towards very simple dresses like those at JCrew and Saja.  But this is the dress I ended up buying. It’s Nicole Miller!  I loved loved loved all of the dresses in that store, and so budget-friendly too!

Here I’m standing on a foot high stool with no heels.  I made it more clear how tall the platform is.  Otherwise I look sooooo tall.

@sheltervet:  So happy to see someone with a taste as mine. I have also picked a ruffled dress, though a little scared it would make me look big. Haven’t gotten it yet…

I’m relitively tall (5 foot 7.5 and will be wearing 2 inches on wedding day) but just comenting on behalf of my sis. She got married a few years back and is just on 5 foot 1 and she had to have 12 inches off the bottom of her skirt!! (she was wearign seperates). She didn’t keep the material, though!! Wish she had, would have made a lovely skirt for a flowergirl!| she wore a strapless sweetheart ballgown and looked amazing. She was worried initially that she’d look liek a little girl dressing up x

@Chota:  Thanks!  I ended up going with the 2nd dress because it is much much more manageable for my destination wedding!

I’m 5′ tall. I didn’t wear heels, I wore ballet shoes lol. I have poor balance and I needed shoes that were almost like being barefoot because I had to walk down a little rocky ledge so ballet shoes worked perfectly. Heels would have ended in disaster and I would have probably slipped in anything with much of a sole, hehe.

Here are a few pictures of my dress. Front, back, and up close detail of the neckline/lace.

(This is not my fave photo or pose style but it shows my dress pretty well.)

    Neckline/lace up close.

    Back! (It was windy, haha.)

On the poll I marked under 5’0″ because I’m not 5’1″ but there’s no option for 5’0″.
