So… normally Fiance and I make all major decisions together, but this was just one he didn’t have much say in. π For the past 6 weeks my manager has been telling me about the kittens she’s trying to get rid of. I kept saying no and not thinking much of it. On Thursday night I had to give her a ride home. I went in to meet her Fiance and of course, I lock eyes with this one specific kitten. I sat down and he was instantly in my lap and cried everytime I tried to put him down so… I brought him home. We already have a 3 year old cat so Fiance gave me a little bit to get them to handle each other. Today they finally started playing with each other!! I’m so excited because now that means I can keep him. However, my curiosity spiked and I wanted to see how easy it was to tell the gender of kittens. lol. So… I think “he” is really a she.. Oops! I’m going to call our vet tomorrow and hopefully get this all sorted out. Either way, I’ve got my own little kitty now! π

Yay kittens! I demand pictures! There were definitely times growing up when my mom and sister and I brought home animals without my father’s knowledge. He’s a giant softie who likes to pretend he’s tough. He’d be all “no more pets, I forbid it!” and within 5 minutes he’d be snuggling the new furbaby!
MrMojito says the only way we can get more cats (we have two) is if I trade them in for newer models. I’m pretty sure if I brought home a kitten he would just melt though. But our baby girl would not like a new friend! And I don’t want to deal with kitty territorial disputes!

his/her green eyes are seriously so cute! “mommy, thank you for bringing me home and not listening to daddy when he said no more animals!”

this is his current position as I type π

@Girasole: That’s what I thought but hey.. I didn’t have my trusty friend Google with me to find out how to tell. After reading some info, I’m pretty sure it’s a girl because of the lack of.. you know.. male parts. But people keep saying it could be hard to tell this young. Probably better to let a professional make the decision! haha. Fiance said that since he had no choice in another cat, I have no choice in the name haha! Right now it’s name is Rebel but that could very well change if it’s a girl. lol. He’s always wanted two animals named Rebel and Dixie (our other cat) so what’s a girl to do? Fiance thought Dixie was a girl though at first and he turned out a boy. So… oh the difficulties of life π

@lambjo: haha!! Rebel is actually an adorable name boy or girl. Think Rebel Wilson! My cat had noticable male parts at 6 weeks, maybe he’s specialz…

@Girasole: I didn’t even think of her! Okay, I guess the name can stay either way. I’m pretty sure Fiance just doesn’t know how to tell the sex of a cat. lol.

@lambjo: if it doesn’t have boobs, pretty sure most men aren’t able to tell you about genders. Hah totally kidding, but I have heard some cats can also have undesended testicles too… Maybe you have a boy after all… Lol.

haha.. nothing was more awkward than taking Dixie in to get spayed and saying they can’t do it because “she” has extra parts BUT they would gladly neuter him. That took a couple seconds to sink in and I probably looked like a complete and total idiot but I’m sure I’m not the only one. I guess we’ll find out the mystery when we see the vet!
