How’s your libido been since coming off BCP?

AWESOME.  I have one again, at long last.

How have your periods been while TTC? Really heavy? Crazy cramps? Nutso PMS?

I haven’t had one yet (but I’ve only been off about a month).

Any other nasty symptoms or great benefits you feel like sharing?

My boobies hurt.  Seriously, what is up with my nipples?  Other than that, everything’s good so far.  Oh, and I have cervical mucous again, which I barely had while on the pill.  So that’ll be good for baby making.

ETA: My face has some blemishes now.  🙁

@buslam69:  I was really hoping I’d lose weight when I went off. Sadly, no. I’ve gained a little bit, but I would blame that on not eating very carefully and not exercising regularly.

I have also realized my skin is a lot more oily. Not really breaking out much more than before, but it’s just… slick. Ew.

I forgot about the PMS– I went back on BCP because I hated the PMS.  The first day of the PMS, I sobbed in my car 3 separate times for ridiculously trivial things (like they didn’t have my coffee at the store).  I am NOT a crier (except for like the silly “watching a sappy movie” tears)– haven’t cried since that time or for probably 2 years before it.   I immediately went back on BCP.

For me, when PMS hits off birth control, I feel like an entirely different person and absolutely hate it.  I’m dreading coming off to TTC because I don’t think Fiance has ever seen me like that and I don’t want to be that way.

I also had more acne and whatnot.  I will definitely go off someday, and look forward to the libido and the breath of fresh air of feelings, but I’m dreading the actual hormones!

I don’t recall?  I went on BCP in high school for acne– which was also partially hormonal and did get a tiny bit better on the pill.  I know I did have heavier periods and I remember some emotional turmoil but who’s to say that wasn’t just teenage angst. Wink

I was on BCP for almost 6 years before going off for 1.5 years, in which I didn’t have a period naturally until I went on Metformin for PCOS.  I had one natural period and said “okay, we did it, let’s get back on BCP!” cause I just wasn’t going to handle that crazy train unless I needed it to make babies!

I wasn’t on BCP long compated to many of you – 2 years.

The pill definitely killed my libido, and it’s back now, yay!  DH agrees that I shouldn’t go on the pill again…he’s enjoying a wife w/o BCP.

I had noticed that my skin was dry on the pill, it has gotten back to its oily self.

I didn’t lose or gain when I started the pill, and didn’t when I stopped either.

When I went off my pill (microgynon), my periods were horrible and heavy. No change in sex drive (high as always lol), no change in skin or weight (thankfully! Good skin and fast metabolism which remained unaffected by the pill). But nothing else changed really.
