I am so excited to be on this site, I had been shopping through a few blogs and this site just seemed to fit. So I guess I will go ahead and get started on our story, my name is Brandy and I am from Wichita Kansas. I moved to Kansas City where I met Raytown local Dalton at a party around the time of my ninetenth birthday. After hunting my number down from one of his friends he text me a month later saying he was sorry to bother but he couldnt forget me. Going on three years later we are still inseperable. He being an aspiring tattoo artist and me being queen of arts n crafts.
When I needed to move back to my hometown Dalton gladly said he would relocate. I had never had someone make such a sacrifice, leaving his very close family behind. After spending a few months in the ICT we had grown very fond of walking to the Indian bridge across from our apartment.
This one particular walk seemed to start just like any other. I was actually a little ticked at D this morning because he had missed work the day earlier (we worked together at a groom shop) due to maintenance needing to do work at our apartment. We are almost too close as a couple, working together, with friends together, and any other time is spent … well together :). BUT, the reason I was upset was because he didnt clean like he said he was going to, little did I know he had a much bigger plan in mind.
So getting back to the walk, its a gloomy, overcast day so I grab an umbrella and it doesnt seem to bother either of us. As we are walking on the bridge D pulls me to the side and says with a smile “I have two surprises for you”. Before any ideas even come to mind he starts getting on one knee. I thought he was going to tie his shoe so Im saying “what are they?surprises?”. As I do he pulls up a pant leg revealing a bandage with the words “Pull!”, he looks at me as I bend down to investigate what exactly this could be. “Will You Marry Me?” is tattoed on his lower leg, the ? in the shape of a heart. My heart races and I push out the sound yes!, as he puts his grandmothers engagement ring on my hand.
We had talked about this moment many times and I had told him I wanted to be surprised, well when a couple is around eachother 24/7 I was handing him Mission Impossible. He aced it and to completely blindside me by having his mother send the ring a month earlier and hiding it in the kitchen! Not only did I not smell it coming but everyone around me was in on it including people from our work.
So thats our engagment story of Feduary 20th 2010 if you would like to see pictures of our day and read a our story from soemone else’s eyes please visit http://crazyhomedaze.blogspot.com/2010/02/what-wonderful-surprise.html
