I’ve been reading Weddingbee for about a year now and I’ve been waiting to make this post – I’m ENGAGED!
My boyfriend of three years proposed to me on Saturday night at our apartment. We’d just come back from having dinner with my parents – we’re planning a family vacation for this February to visit my grandparents in France – and he said he was planning to propose to me then, with my parents and family around, but that he just couldn’t wait! It was the sweetest, most simple proposal. Something along the lines of “you’re my best friend and I’m in love with you, and I want be with you for life” – and then he asked the actual question “will you marry me” in French, to which I answered “HELL YES” in English and proceeded to freak out.
It’s his grandmother’s engagment ring. Not sure on any of the specs – 8 prong cathedral type setting, I guess – all I know for sure is that I’ve loved the ring since she first showed it to me a year or two ago and I’m honored that she gave it to him for me.
Can’t wait to be a part of the hive!

Thank you so much guys! 🙂
People always talk about making things like this “facebook official” but to be honest since my family/close friends already know my first thought was “I don’t care if a bunch of random people on facebook know I’m engaged, I want to show it to weddingbee!”

Congratulations! Your ring is beautiful and the sentiment behind it is so sweet and special. I have never seen an 8 prong ring before and I really love it! It looks like a crown, perfect for a queen or a princess 🙂
