Hi Bees! I have been lurking for a few days. This is my first post. I am in the throws of redesigning my original E-ring and I was looking for some (feminine) feedback!!
We got married in a whirlwind 10-day period (from proposal to alter) and while my rings are gorgeous, and they were the style I wanted -round solitare, plain shank, diamond wedding band- we just didnt spend a lot of time on them. (at all, really) The jeweler was also a bit sheisty, and the end result is a white gold/diamond wedding band and a platinum solitare 4 prong e-ring. So that’s annoying. Especially now almost 4 years later that they color difference is becoming very obvious. So- keeping my WG wedding band in tafor sentimental reasons and re-setting the e-ring stone. While we are at it… who can resist a little redesign?? Hubs gave me a pair of diamond earring after I had our 2 boys and I am going have them set as sidestones in lieu of a mothers ring (birthstones arent my style, lol)
I have a clear concept of what I want… I even found 2 rings by the same designer that could be combined and be great- but $$ plays a factor. I THINK I WANT- a round halo on the center stone ONLY and the two sidestones set beside that on a PLAIN SHANK. NO detail or milgraine, pave etc. Havnt found a cost- effective version.
OK- Any thoughts?? Specific suggestions, cheap custom work recommendation? Anything

@MrsB161718: Share a pic or two of what you have or potentially a ring you might fancy for an upgrade…. This will help to gage what is your preference in rings….
Oh n welcome to WB…

You’ll probably save by not having diamonds on the shank.
And you could always go with alternatives(moissy, white sapphs, or other gems) My center stone is a Chrysoberyl(my ring is being designed as we speak)
A picture of what you’re thinking about combing would be helpful, too!

Thanks guys!! Here are some images of the two I want to combine. I like the basket with the diamond “U” underside. I dont care for the side profile of this 3 stone. But this is the direction anyway
The center stone I have is a GIA .60/E/SI1. The side stones are appx .15 each. Hoping the proportions will be pretty together (similar to this 3 stone, maybe?) with the halo on the center stone!
http://www.gabrielny.com/engaged/style/ER9515W44JJ <— this is the same designer, single halo with plain shank and the pretty diamond basket. Im not committed to this designer it is just the best option i have run across so far
Haha, if that part isnt actually called the “basket” (the bottom, under the halo) someone please let me know =) idk what im talking about here.
I think the hardest part of this process is trying to get a *real* idea and concept of the size and proportions and how it will look on you. I am a fairly petite person, only 5’2, 130 lbs, I wear a 6.75-7 ring. I have looked through some halo posts and everyone out there seems to have these lovely long, slender fingers and super big rocks!! All these 3.5-4.5s and 1 carat + center stones, … its hard to translate, kwim? So I should also throw out there- if anyone has a .5-.7 carat round stone with a halo on about a size 7 finger– that would REALLY help me out!=))
Thanks to anyone who takes the time to share their ideas and pictures!
