Goodness!  I’ve been thinking this exact same thing recently- except my diamond obsession is turning into more than just rings! 😳

In my defense I purchase things only if its a really great deal/price.

My next project is a diamonds by the yard bracelet being custom made using numerous and various diamond shapes! My treasure hunt is on for the diamonds I want to use!

By the way, someone mentioned, “just one more and I’m done”…False.  I said that after I bought my pear bezel solitaire and a fire was just lit under me to find more pretty sparkles!

I am not married but I do treat myself because it makes me happy!

Fellow ring/ diamond/ moissy/ gemstone addict here.  I actually haven’t logged on here in a while because I was attempting to keep my little hobby/ obsession in check,  but, alas, I have returned, lol!  And in far too ashamed to post all my bling pics, but I completely understand it kinda being a running family joke.  Whenever my sisters or friends see me,  they always either have me hold out my hands or ask if I’ve added to the collection.  You’re in good company.  I’ve missed all you gals!

I sure belong here! I’ve always loved rings because unlike earrings and necklaces, with rings I get to enjoy them all the time too. Earrings and necklaces are hard to see while you wear them.

I took up silversmithing a few years ago so I could  design and make my own rings. So far I’ve made dozens and dozens of silver, but only 1 gold (a 14 kt yellow gold natural ruby solitaire pinkie ring). I’m addicted to rings – I don’t buy designer clothes, purses, or shoes – just rings.

My latest purchase – in memory of a favorite aunt who passed away very unexpectedly at the beginning of July – is a 14 kt rose gold with oval 2 carat pink morganite with diamond halo. I tried to find something that really suited her personality – and she loved pink, and diamonds.  (Photo below)

I love the choices available thru the Internet now – when I got married 25 years ago you HAD to use the local jeweller – there was no internet shopping then!

I also have a problem right now lol  I love my e-ring but I been wearing it for a long time and wanted something different. DH bought me a different ring for our 5 year anniversary but I don’t like it much because its set too high for me. I think I want a buy different ring. Nothing to fancy or expensive. Not gonna spend >300$, don’t care about it being a diamond.

question is what should I get? I am really liking pears lately but also love cushion cuts. Both of my rings are RB. How much do you guys approx spend on your ring projects. I guess I could sell my anniversary ring and use the money to buy the one I like better.

Hi I’m Mel aka Emelee. Whom is my daughter. I’m of Dutch heritage also! My mum was born there. I’m also a ring addict!!!!! I buy and sell also to fund my projects lol! I source diamonds for a hobby for people and unfortunately for my husband, myself, which is so so hard as I buy a lot πŸ˜–  But I don’t smoke, drink (much) and I don’t really buy handbags shoes etc. that’s my excuses and I’m sticking to them lol. 😣 πŸ€—

EmeleeRose :  that ring is so nice. Is it diamond? The centre stone in the photo doesn’t look clear – it looks opaque – like turquoise – maybe it’s just the photo (or my eyes). Sourcing diamonds sounds like a fun job! Can you give more info?

mishybear :  yes it’s a fancy yellow diamond. Thank you. No your right that photo does look a little blurry. So I have a diamond dealer and I work on the side from home. I will have a client contact me and ask me to find the perfect diamond to suit their needs, certain colour clarity price etc and her and I will find the diamond specific to the clients request. She travels the world and visits diamond auctions and shows etc. I stay home with my kidlets and I get the clients and show them pictures she sends me of the diamonds we have access to. I also have a jeweller who can create anything you could dream of. I design all my own settings for my pieces. It is so much fun but so dangerous!!

This might be a bit more clear, but I’m putting it down to my bad photography skills lol
