You both mentioned (and I think another Bee did too) replacing the nude lining of my Rebecca Ingram gown with ivory, which I hadn’t even thought about but I really like that idea!
Thank you again to everyone who complimented my original gown and offered constructive criticism about the others. I’ve been doing some soul searching after trying everything on again and figuring out what image I truly want for my wedding day and what style of dress is the most “me.” I fell in love with my Rebecca Ingram dress for a reason, and I think because it is so different from that classic-traditional-ballgown look I thought I always wanted, I’ve been second guessing my decision. But seeing my original dress with some sparkly belts added, with a veil, and with some jewelry I tried on I definitely see it with fresh eyes. I also am 99% sure my fiance would love the Rebecca Ingram on me far more than the ballgowns (not that I would let that stop me from getting the dress of my dreams if I decided on ballgown! I just know he prefers something that style to bigger poofy dresses).

Always go with what you love. It’s your wedding day. It’s the one day that you need to feel beautiful. And you need to like what you’re wearing.

I really love your dress. It’s beautiful on you. If you don’t feel comfortable with it, though, and you feel like you need a more structured dress, then I feel like it would be hard to beat dress 3. It’s gorgeous.

I like the original, but… I see where you are conflicted!
You stated you were getting married in a castle, so you proabably want to feel like a queen and a ball gown typically does that for brides.
If you want a ballgown, I would suggest for going for a more current look… like…
They have have ball gown look with some embellishments on them but look more current, if you are still on the hunt I suggest looking for something along either of these lines =)

I LOVE dress #1, I think it looks fantastic on you! I also really love the first belt you tried on, it goes beautifully with your dress, defines your waist really nicely and gives a great pop!

You are absolutely right!
Thank you. Unfortunately, I learned that Dress #3 has been discontinued and is completely out of stock. They were willing to sell me the sample I tried on but it had a lot of wear and tear and was about 4 sizes too small. I have not seen it available on any preowned wedding dress sites and direct from the designer put me way over budget (it was almost a thousand more than in store). So ultimately I think I have to pass on that one 🙁
Those dresses are grogeous! I did try on some similar types of ballgowns but fell into the issue of most of them having lower cut backs, and I need to have mine covered for the wedding. I’ve spoken to alterations about reconstructing a new back that is full coverage; the only downside there is that can get costly. The venue I’m getting married at is a sort of rustic castle. It was originally a barn that was renovated and added on to – lots of old wood, stone fireplaces, very dark and moody.

Thank you!!! I feel a lot better about it after trying on some accessories. A belt gives it that extra something I think it was missing

I think that your dress looks lovely, but if you’ve always envisioned yourself in a classic traditional ballgown, there are definitely more modern modest style options out there that will give you the coverage you want for your tatoo!
Try checking out the Allure Modest Collection. It has several ballgowns that might suit your vision/venue: https://www.allurebridals.com/modest/styles?limit=48
Maggie Sottero also has a good selection of modest wedding dresses, although not as many ballgowns: https://www.maggiesottero.com/find-your-style/category/583?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIl7CH2e6N6AIVFh6tBh0n8ghoEAAYASAAEgJaGvD_BwE
If you’re looking for something more affordable, you can check out David’s Bridal’s modest ballgowns as well: https://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_oleg-cassini-short-sleeve-modest-ball-gown-slcwg568
Good luck choosing the dress that makes you feel best! 🙂

I love that you shared these! I was OBSESSED with Allure Modest and Mon Cheri’s Modest lines when I first began my dress search. And Elizabeth Cooper too. I was super sad that nobody in my state (or neighboring states) carried those lines. I also liked a lot of styles on ieie Bridal’s website, although those are online only. In the end I just haven’t been able to bring myself to order something that I haven’t seen in person 🙁

Dress #1 is beautiful on you!

I like the first one by far the best! You look amazing in it and remember you will be all dolled up on that day and it will make it feel more “dressy and bridal” like you want. It’s beautiful!!!!

Thanks you guys! And I agree, once I’m fully glammed it will make a difference. Even just seeing a belt or veil added helped!
While a part of me still loves ballgowns, I think I felt too much like I was playing dress up or wearing a costume. They didn’t really feel “me” – whereas the Rebecca Ingram (Dress #1) I purchased was the first dress I tried on that actually did. I was having dress regret because it’s very different from what I thought I originally wanted and that has caused me to second guess my decision. But now I think I made the right choice and feel so much better after posting! Thanks everyone. I really appreciate it.

If you are not sure, keep looking.

That’s fair, I think I’m done with the dress search now though.
