So to make a long story short, my first and most recent appt with our midwife, my Bridal Party was on the higher side(132/85 if I remember correctly). I’m sure it hasn’t come down much if at all with all the sress going on around me and the LO lately. Husband has been without a job since Nov even tho he’s very actively searching and we’re dealing with a ton of issues with his ex g/f, mother of his daughter. Things go ok for a few days and all of a sudden I feel like we hit a wall. I’m looking for help on whatever techniques you use or know of to help keep my Bridal Party down….I’m almost 15w and do not want to end up on bed rest or in the hosp half way through this pregnancy. I’m taking fish oil which my midwife said could help with Bridal Party and I’m hoping it really does. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

I have no experience with HBP in pregnancy, but my hubby has had it from a young age, so here are my general tips based on what he’s seen consistent results with:
-keeping salt intake in check – majorly minimizing processed food is a big way to do this
-regular exercise – doesn’t have to be a lot, but a few short walks a day is helpful
-drink tons of water
-plain hibiscus tea is also great, but I think it’s a uterine stimulant, so a no go.
If you suspect your HBP is highly stress related, you can also try meditation practices. I highly recommend the Healthy Journeys website for general stress and specific pregnancy meditations. There’s even some free pregnancy tracks if you do a search. You might also see if there’s anything you can take off your plate and let your hubby take care of temporarily. I’ve done both and they’ve really helped me feel less stressed and anxious. Good luck on all accounts!
