Just had our meeting with our photographer for the showing of our Bridal portraits! What is included in our package is a framed portrait for us to display at the wedding, Any other prints we have to order through her. We really would like the rights to the CD of the entire shoot ( which we do get for the wedding). The price for high-resolution is $500. The cost for the low resolution cd is $100. Is it worth it to pay the extra $400 for high relolution?

@mobjune25: I would ask about printing sizes for the images. I.e. how large can you print low res vs high res.

I 2nd KatNYC2011. Usually the low res will only print out without being distorted up to a 4×6. If you are going to want larger prints you may need the High Res. I would ask the photog.

Low resolution is probably for web use. I would find out whether or not you can even print from the low resolution disk.

@KatNYC2011: from a digital artist’s POV, high-res is ALWAYS better. The quality is far more detailed and you, really, can’t get “too high” of a resolution. You CAN however get too LOW a resolution.
Think of it this was: low res is like taking a scanned photo and enlarging it 10x’s. It’s gonna get blurry and grainy.
A HIGH RES photo is like taking a large picture (say an 8×10) and doubling it WITHOUT the blurring or graininess occuring.
Hope that makes some sense….
my suggestion: pay more for the High-Res photos. You won’t regret it!!!
