If I still lived near my hometown I might consider it if I found a couple of my high school friends going too.  I don’t know if I would go if I couldn’t find at least one friend that was going.  Two more years will be my 10 year reunion. I think there was a 5 year one but I didn’t go because I wasn’t in town for that either.

@ritsi_bitsi:  I would like to show off how good I look, how successful I am and that I have a husband.  That’s because I always thought I was a loser while I was in high school. I didn’t really have much self esteem back then. I still have self esteem problems but somehow I lucked out with my job and my husband.  (Note: I sound cocky admitting that first sentence, but in reality I’m a very modest person.  When it comes to high school, I kinda want to prove them wrong.) It’s one of those thing I can admit because of the anonymity of being online.  I wouldn’t have to guts to actually tell someone this.

I wouldn’t bother going to high school reunions.  Most people I want to catch up with I talk with on facebook.  All the others were asses in high school, and I’m pretty sure that they are probably asses now.  I could care less what they are doing with their lives.  LOL… I sound a bit jaded.

I went to my 10 year reunion.  None of my HS friends were there.  All the bitchy girls WERE there and acting totally confused why everyone thought they were bitchy.  NONE of the “popular” people attended, it was like a B-list party.  I think I hung out with a sum total of 3 people I saw there (who are also FB friends).  The rest of the people there I recognized their names but wasn’t really interested in catching up.  I don’t think I’ll ever attend another one.  It totally sucked.  Not to mention all the money we raised to pay for the reunion (back in HS) was given to the class after us, and after them, etc.  The school didn’t keep our money ours.  Suck.  So the tickets to attend were totally overpriced to raise money for the NEXT reunion.  Weak.

I went to both my 15 and 20 and had an absolute blast!  I never spoke to most of them since high school, but because of FB I have reconnected with a ton of classmates and most of whom I never spoke to in high school.  I graduated with a HUGE class (the largest that has ever graduated in our state, almost 800) so it was really hard to even know part of them.  I highly recommend the 20, not to upset I missed the 10.  Everyone has really changed by time the 20 come along, even people who hated me in school were coming up to me and hugging me.  We shared a common place, time, experience, and people, I think in the scheme of life that is all that really matters in the end.

Nothing in this world could have convinced me to go to my high school reunion. It was just a few weeks ago in my hometown and people flew in from all over for it. I saw the photos on Facebook and had myself a good laugh – the same people obsessed with themselves.

@Mighty – ours were expensive also, but by the 20 they had figured out that eveyone just wants to go to the bar and hang out.  Our 20 was two bar nights of just hanging out, most of the people on the second night that I had so much fun with were people who never spoke to me in school.   Most of my “friends” in school were not even there.  The best was catching up with the ones I had gone, not only to high school with, but to grade school with.

Really Bees, try to make it to your 20, by then bygones are bygones.

@ritsi_bitsi: Oh sure, I have TONS to prove to people. I was TORTURED by my classmate in high school – they wouldn’t even KNOW what to do with me now.

But, because they are such asshats it wouldn’t make a lick of difference to them. They wouldn’t be impressed, and why do I have to impress these people that made me feel miserable?!

If I had not married the super cute and popular music drum player of our class I probably wouldn’t go but because I did we would for sure go.

@ritsi_bitsi: Phew, I’m so glad you understand. I was tempted to delete what I wrote because I felt like I spilled to much.   Yeah, like you I actually didn’t have my first boyfriend until I was in 11th grade.  So you can imagine how I felt, I thought I was ugly and no one wanted to date me. I didn’t really dwell on it  too much but it did cross my mind everytime one of my friends had a new boyfriend.  The only good thing from high school were the friends I had and still have.

Well the good thing is that you are no longer the introvert that you used to be.  I still consider myself shy and an introvert.  It’s really my friends who know that I’m not.

My ten year HS reunion was this past summer and was held on a FRIDAY!!  I wanted so badly to go, but couldn’t get the time off from work.  I loved high school and would have loved to see how everyone is doing.  I’m really awful at keeping in touch with folks, so I’ve lost track of alot of my HS friends.
