So, here we go. Fiance and i have decided to try for a baby in October – and i want to be married before i fall pregnant (We’re also going on a holiday in October, and so it would be lovely to use that as our honeymoon.). Anyhow, i am thinking of having a backyard high tea themed wedding (my dad has a heritage house, with a beautiful backyard). We have the tiniest of tiny budgets $5000. Just wondering if I can get some ideas from anyone who has done either a budget wedding like this, or a high tea themed wedding!

I think $5,000 is definitely possible. I would start by thinking about how many people you’d like to have – that will affect everything else. Then you can start working out a budget. I used the tools on theknot.com. You enter in how many people and your budget and they break it down for you.

@AlwaysSunny: We’re looking at 70-80. Which will be hard, but granted how lucky we are venue wise, and I know lots of people who can do things either free or cheap for us! 🙂 Thanks for the resource! i’ll definitely have to check it out!!!

This is an awesome idea. The best bit is that you can do your own catering, because high tea food can be done the day before. You’ll save a fortune! I suggest you also sort out some lawn games for the guests.
