I would hire a wedding planner if you do not have time to plan the wedding yourself. For example, search for vendors to hire for your wedding. You need someone to coordinate the vendors and wedding to make sure things are going the way they should on the day of. If you want someone to do the decorations for you then a wedding planner will be someone that you need. You will also need a florist if you plan to use live flowers. A lot of wedding planners have preferred vendor list of people they have worked with that they can recommend for different things such as a photographer or videographer.

The cost for a wedding planner will vary depending on the area in which you live in and what your needs are.  Some planners have tiered servicing packages. For example, you may need them for a full 12 months of planning or maybe 6 months; therefore, the package pricing will vary depending on your needs. I will not be hiring a wedding planner, as I have already planned out everything for our wedding.  We will hire a DOC to help the day of the wedding. Also our venue has someone that will be helping out the day of as well. Some venues offer planners and coordinators. It just depends on what your needs are. You can do a good search to find wedding planners in your area. Different wedding sites also have list of vendors and reviews.

I would not, for cost reasons only. If I had an unlimited budget, then I would in a heartbeat.
