At the very beginning I liked the idea of matching but now it seems like we most likely will have different color bands – he knew my taste was for white gold e-rings, so that’s what I have, which I feel pretty much locks me in to white gold bands, but he doesn’t like the look of white gold on men (just his odd opinion), plus his class ring, which he will wear, will be yellow gold. I’m hoping maybe we can at least have something similar in them but I’m accepting that they might just be totally different!

Ours probably won’t match – I want a ring to fit with my e-ring and I’m sure he’ll pick something very simple.

Ours don’t really match, either. His is tungsten with a single tiny round diamond, and mine are white gold with little square diamonds all the way around. We just each picked out what we wanted without worrying about whether they matched- and they still look fine together.

Our dont match, but they are similar.  It was one of those things that was pretty important to us.

Ours are matching bands. Exact thickness, and everything but different size rings of course. I really like the idea of having matching bands. It just makes it more obvious that we belong together, a pair, etc. As cheesy as THAT sounds, I love the idea!!

We originally wanted to have matching bands and went shopping with this in mind. BUT…. because of the setting of my e-ring, we’re going to need to have something custom-made to fit around the diamond…it’s a prince cut (an emerald shape but with twice as many facets) and sits flush on my finger, ergo no room for a band to go underneath. It has to be made to fit around it.

We were kinda bummed as we really liked the idea of having matching bands….oh well… c’est la vie!

Yep, I was able to find a plain gold band for my future wife that almost exactly matches her grandmother’s wedding ring that she is giving me.  We both liked the idea of matching rings, and since her grandmother’s was a plain gold band, it was not that hard to find a matching one.  The hardest part was finding it in 22 karat gold, since that is unusual in this country, but I was able to get it from eBay UK.

We aren’t doing matching rings. Mine is an antique style to match the style of my e-ring (which is sort of deco) and has a really pretty engraved leaf/vine type design and his is going to be more simple and masculine – matte platinum with milligrained edges.

Not even close.  Fiance wants a plain steel band…yep, no precious metal.  I made him do research on whether he could lose his finger if an ER can’t cut it off after an accident, and it seems he’ll be fine.  I did not want an e-ring, so I wanted something a bit more intricate for the band (also, b/c plain bands look pretty clunky on me unless they are too thin to really look like a wedding band).  We just placed an order for my custom band on Sunday.  I’m pretty excited.  It’s sort of filigree but not at all the traditional sort, more like an art deco era design. It’s based on an estate piece I saw that was not my size.  Definitely would not look good on a boy, though 😛
