THANK HEAVEN it’s expected to be into the 40’s Sunday-Monday-Tuesday. Bad for the weekend, but going away by midweek! Hope so anyway.

My neck of the woods is expected to get somewhere between NOTHING and 18″!!!!

thistle89:  I hope no power outages. I have already looked up nearby hotels that are pet friendly just in case we need to go somewhere with power or a generator!

I’m in the DC suburbs. I was supposed to travel this weekend but that’s not hapenning now. However, I can’t NOT be excited for snow. I love the snow and am really looking forward to it. I just hope it starts early enough in the day on Friday to get me out of work!

I live in southern VA, and have family in NoVa.  I work at home 4 days/week so glad that I’ll be working at home Friday, as the snow is supposed to start down here early Friday morning (last I checked).  I’m glad I have no plans this weekend or else I would be severely disappointed!  I was debating going to the grocery store tonight, but I think I’ve got enough to hold me over through the weekend, and would rather avoid the crowds that will most likely be there!  Also, we’re supposed to get a little snow tonight too!

Another DC-area bee here (Arlington). I’m really hoping this storm lives up to the hype! We usually do our grocery shopping by the week on Saturday, so we’re going to head out after work to make sure we’re stocked at least through the weekend. We should be set on booze.

I’m not *super* worried about power outages because apparently our electric lines are underground, but you never know.

If the forecast holds and we don’t close I’m definitely working from home on Friday. I work in MD and don’t want to count on metro to get me home in case things get bad later in the day!

I’m a DC area bee too (Germantown) and I’m pumped! Just hope everyone gets off the roads in time this time! Does anyone remember the big storm four or five years ago? It took me 9 hours to,get from American university to Rockville,  but I was lucky because I,avoided 495 and 270, peoples cars were abandoned on those, roads for days!

DC bee, here too (Falls Church, VA). We are supposed to be having a dinner party Saturday night. Should I cancel it now? I’ve got a very expensive order at the butcher’s for pick up on Saturday … not sure what to do …

beautyofdreams:  I’m in DC with a puppy too–mine is a little 15lb thing. This could throw a wrench in housebreaking that had been going really well…

Does anyone else have to work this weekend?  I am a nurse and considered essential personel.  My commute is 45 minutes in good weather.  Even though I am off Friday, I am probably going to have to go in if the weather gets bad and spend the whole weekend at the hospital.  I am so not excited about the forecast.  My husband works on a military base and we don’t know if they will make him stay at work or if he will be able to leave (he is also considered essential personel at his workplace).  He works overnight Friday and is off Saturday and Sunday.  I would be excited if we were both off and didn’t have to worry about driving in this weather.

travelingduo:  that sounds like a disaster trying to get home. I metro but even that gets very frustrating if crowded!

alamana:  hmmm…dinner party sounds fun but idk…its kind of risky. I wouldn’t cancel yet but if the forecast doesn’t change by tomorrow night then I would move it to another weekend. Yes this weather will definitely be a challenge for a pup. I just can’t wait for my pup to see real snow for the first time!
