I was just crunching some final numbers and I realized something, I don’t have enough chairs for the ceremony! My venue is providing the indoor reception chairs(150 of those so I’m fine) and has 99 white plastic chairs I planned on using for our outdoor ceremony. So, I’m short about 30 chairs.
Would it look weird if all the chairs don’t match? I’m looking into renting some extra chairs, but the venue does have about 35 metal chairs, but they’re old and not nice looking.

can you disquise all the chairs with a cover?

@MiraJo: It won’t look weird if all the chairs don’t match if you make it look intentional.
Place the different chairs along the back row and lining the aisle. If you have some left over, do the front row, then the outer chairs.

@asianyoushi: I’m reistant to covering the chairs due to price and I’m worried they would get dirty being outside.
@julies1949: I was thinking about placing the different chairs in the back 3 rows… how do you htink that would look in pictures?

@julies1949: This is a great idea.
OP, I think “outlining” the blocks of chairs like PP suggested rather than just putting the different ones in the back will look more intentional and less like you obviously ran out of chairs.

No one will notice the chairs, really. The first couple of people might, but then they’ll be all filled up with people, so you won’t really see the chair itself anyway. I wouldn’t even worry about it. Just get 30 more chairs.
