Hi bees. When I get emotional, usually anxious/nervous/stressed or really weepy(like during the ceremony!) I tend to get big, bright red blotchy spots on my super pale skin! Not raised or itchy like real hives, but it looks so terrible and is always on my neck, chest and face and it’s VERY noticeable. I’m so scared this will happen before/during the ceremony! Does anyone else have this problem?

I just tend to get red in general and am also pale…. I don’t have any suggestions haha

I get red and splotchy on my neck and torso when I’m stressed or nervous. once I’m relaxed though it fades, I recommend a shot of fine liquor or a stiff drink. Deep breaths also help:)

I used to get like that all the time when I was in my 20s….when i got married the first time around I made sure to have something covering my chest I was so worried…..my dress was gorgeous but had a lace panel across my chest…I gradually out grew it I guess.

Try taking antihistamines. Just remember that ones like Claritin and Zyrtec need some time to build up in your system, but they won’t knock you out like Benadryl will. If you start taking them a couple weeks before the ceremony, you should be good to go.

I have this exact problem, just not on my face! Big day is tomorrow (ah!), so no time for antihistimines to build up. I am also wearing a strapless dress with nothing to cover my chest. I plan to cover my neck and chest with primer, foundation, and maybe some bronzer so it won’t stand out so much. Hopefully that will work since ppl seem to get very concerned when they see it lol

This pretty common, and since it’s not usually a histamine reaction, I’ve found allergy meds don’t usually have an effect. My go-to cure is a cold shower, which constricts the blood vessels in the skin and cuts down the redness.

OMG I had this on my wedding day. on. my. face! luckily my photographer had some zirtec in his bag.
(and I don’t regularly get hives but it was really hot, and i had eaten some shellfish and alcohol)
luckily they went away fast.
