- Wedding: July 2012
So I had my first fitting! I stepped into the dress, it fit like a glove, the bodice needs no alterations and the skirt is the perfect length…I’m thinking “score!!!”…til I walk out and my Mom says “uhhh isn’t this supposed to have a chapel train?”
Yes. Yes it is. But instead it has NO TRAIN AT ALL! Apparently they either cut it off or never made it with one!!!! And I ordered a dress from Lea-Ann Belter, a fancy designer who her stuff in Toronto and is not cheap. Sooo, that was awkward! The consultant freaked out and called the designer whose sales rep for the salon freaked out as well. I heard her scream through the phone “IT DOESN’T HAVE A TRAIN AT ALL?! AT ALL?!?!?!?!” No it doesn’t lol.
Basically, I was the only one not freaking out because I still have 2 months til the wedding and every SYTTD that has a crazy issue has alwasy seen it resolved, and I’m a pretty laid back person anyway. I absolutely was going to make them fix it but since they clearly agreed I didn’t need to yell. Thankfully, apparently the skirt and bodice are made separately and sewn together at the end for this dress (Lea-Ann Belter’s “Allison”) so they just have to remake the skirt and it should be ready in 2 weeks 🙂
