I’m definitely going to be biased b/c I HATE birdcage veils, but I have to say that the long veil looks lovely :o)

    And your dress is gorgeous!

I would have to see it all together for sure, but I think any veil would look great with that dress. Perhaps the location of your wedding might make a difference. Is your wedding going to be in a church? I would go with a longer veil. Garden type wedding? I would go with birdcage.

I was really unsure as well, but decided with the birdcage and am soooo glad that I did.

But, what I initally wanted to do (but ran out of time) was to get 2! Wear your birdcage during the reception & your long veil during your ceremony. Its a win win!

@AnnieAAA: That was my thought too…switch it up. Long ceremony, birdcage reception.

@TheFutureMrsC: I looked for some examples of non-updo birdcage looks to see how they would look.

I think a birdcage could still work with a variety of hairstyles, though I do prefer the updo with it the most.

I was totally deadset on a birdcage veil for a long time because my dress has a bit of a 40’s/50’s feel to it, but then I tried on a sheer, pencil edged chapel length veil with it and fell in love! It’s only 72″ wide, so it stays pretty sheer as opposed to the ones with more fabric that seem to obscure the dress more.

I may still wear a birdcage for the reception, but right now I’m leaning towards a statement headband.

Personally, I think a sheer chapel or cathedral length veil would look gorgeous with your gown.

I actually really like the long viel with your dress.  For me it fits and totally works.  It seems to add to the over all look and feel.

I wore both!  I loved the look of the birdcage on my face but really wanted a long floaty veil.  I loved the look together

I’m having a full veil for the ceremony and a bird cage for the reception
