Hey Bees,
So after a month of trying to book a date with a ‘budget’ hair and makeup artist, and getting so frustrated over the communication (or lack of) I decided to jump ship and find a new person. Luckily no deposits had been paid yet!! The new person is amazing, right around the same price (after the first girls fees for ‘travelling’ and using the salon were added on, together totalling 100 dollars which is ridiculous and deserves its own rant) and we were able to chat on the phone and get all of my questions answered in one hour, versus going on two months. The only issue is that with the new HMUA our day of timeline changes a little. Our ceremony starts at 4:30 and I figured we would all start hair and makeup around 10 AM. Fi and I are doing a first look and all of the wedding party/family shots beforehand so we can just relax after the ceremony. However, the hmua has another wedding that day (later than ours, though) and would have to be done with us and leaving right around 1 PM, which means that we would be starting at 8:30 AM. I’ll have my bridesmaids go first so I can sleep a little longer and have the freshsest makeup, but I’m still kind of worried that the makeup isn’t going to last all day. I texted my photographer about it and asked if this sounded like a reasonable timeline and she said it sounds perfect, that she’d want us done around 1 anyways to have time for all the getting ready shots, posed pics, etc and that her wedding day makeup lasted like 24 hours. She will be coming to the house that my parents have rented near our venue so my bridesmaids can just drive over from their rental house and I was thinking we could have some coffee and fruit (morning staples lol) ready and maybe one of my brothers or something would go pick up breakfast for us, but it definitely is a little different than the more relaxed, slower paced morning I had envisioned. Can you guys share your timelines, especially those of you doing pics beforehand, and some tips for making an earlier morning go smoother?
