@slc201329:  I’m at HL atleast once a week but usually more! lol I’ve bought the stuff for my table numbers there, ribbon, box for ringbearer, program basket, cardstock….etc. Michaels is closer to my house so I go there when I need a quick trip. I’ve gotten lots from there to. Their app is the best because the coupons are on it!

I’ve been making weekly runs to Michael’s and AC Moore to use my coupons.  It’s gotten worse ever since a Michael’s opened up 2 minutes away from my house.  I’ve been able to buy almost all of my centerpiece materials and glassware from these two stores, including foam rings for flowers, hurricane vases, and flower-making materials.  The only DIY item I haven’t bought from these stores is the crepe paper I use for my flowers, which I have to special order from a website.  Recently, I discovered that the glass plates I use for my centerpiece base were going on clearance, so I snapped up the last 7 that I needed for under $5 each.  I’m sure that once I finish buying centerpiece items, I’ll start thinking about table numbers and other decor.

@slc201329: You are doing awesome at this point in the game!

I usually go to Michael’s about once a month when I get a long enough list.  I’ve gotten cards for invitation inserts, tons of ribbon and cardstock, and frames (for guest book photos and table number holders).  I’m still planning to get a scrapbook (for guest book photos).  I’ve also been using Amazon and Offce Depot for other stationary items and place card holders (Amazon for less than $1 each).  Got a card bird cage from Walmart ($16).

@slc201329:  Michaels and Joanns – I’m addicted to these stores! I have never been in a Hobby Lobby… there is one actually right down the street from where I work, but I never knew what it was. I think I’m going to have to make a trip there on my lunch break today. I have a feeling I’m in for some trouble… Wink

Jealous of all you who are just minutes away from Hobby Lobby and Michaels!  My closest stores are an hour away!  Really makes it hard to stock up on things that never go on sale, but can use a coupon on.

Trust me, it’s a thousand times worse when you work at Michaels and are planning a mostly DIY wedding! At least three days a week I end up buying something from work; All the materials for the placecards, centerpieces, some frames for various signs around the reception, basswood slats and wood stain to make a ceremony sign (probably my favorite DIY project so far!), galvanized buckets for sparklers, materials for photobooth props, more burlap, twine, and lace than I care to think about, the list goes on and on and on. I swear half my paycheck goes back to the store!!

Hobby Lobby has all their His & Her wedding collection stuff 50% off this week.  So I got all the hanging crystals for my manzanita trees and my cake tower.  Says love in black script with rhinestones.  The next time the His & Her sale (which the manager said they have 1x a month) I am going to bring FI with me so we can pick out our cake knife set, and toasting flutes.  Love Michael’s too!  Got all the vases for some of my centerpieces there on clearance around Christmas time.  They were normally $24.99 marked down to $4.99.

@mvg120:  You must come home covered in glitter 🙂

They all know me by name at Michaels I’m there so often.  I take advantage of JoAnn’s online flash sales quite often too.  However, I won’t shop at Hobby Lobby for personal/political reasons (not looking for an argument, just a personal choice of mine).

I am happiest when making things.  I need to figure out how to quit my day job and just craft all day long!
