- Wedding: August 2012
Ok, so yesterday I had my first freak attack and felt so disappointed with myself… I have been so proud of not being a bridezilla through all my planning: My BMs chose their own dresses and can wear whatever shoe they want, I have been extra polite with our vendors and even sent them advance thank you notes for all they have already done, etc. But yesterday I could not hold back from freaking out. Our wedding is 31 days away and unfortunately the city decided to host a biker rally on the same day. Thousands of motorcycle riders will be in town for it with a parade that will close the downtown streets, culminating in a Molly Hatchett concert at the riverfront by the Gateway Building. The Gateway Building… same one that is printed on our invites. YES. Our reception ballroom balcony at the Gateway will have the priviledge of overlook a Molly Hatchett concert for thousands of loud bike riders. Nothing against bike riders, but it will be loud. ANd with the streets closed, our guests won’t be able to park anywhere near the reception. We blocked what we thought were enough hotel rooms but with so many people in town worried they would not be able to make it downtown because of the closures, many of them decided to also stay at the hotels and ride the shuttles. I called the hotel yesterday to find out if I could increase the number of rooms in our block and they told me they would love to… but they are sold out because of the bike rally.
Second issue. My photographers are a hubby-wife team. Since we signed in december, the wife discovered she is expecting. Her delivery date is September first and unfortunately last week she went into early labor. It was luckly stopped with meds but she is on bed rest and can go into labor again anytime. Who wants to guess her due date as August 11th??? 🙂
Anyone else experiencing some hiccups like these?
