I hold on to good ones too!

I got one with the quote “A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor” during a rough time last year, couldn’t bring myself to toss it out.

Funniest one: “Thank goodness someone finally let me out of that cookie!”

I had one that said something about.. a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step, or something like that lol. I kept it for a while.

If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?

Don’t wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it

Never compare yourself to the best others can do, only to the best you can do

and my favorite,

There is a large cake in your future!

I’m an absolute gluton for fortune cookies! And I keep all of the fortunes. After I get a big bag of them I use them for vision boards and craft projects. Sometimes I pick out all the best ones, sometimes I just use them randomly but I find that they make great ‘free’ crafting material 😀

I am weird but I have saved fortunes for sooo long now! And like, almost all of them lol. I think my favorite fortune was the one that said:

“It must be home grown.”

…. Sometimes I try to find the deep meaning I’m sure is hidden in there. Surely.

No. I don’t enjoy Chinese food so I may eat a fortune cookie like two times a year.

I’ve only held onto one…

“The best times of your life have not yet been lived”

I’m not sure why I hung onto it but very shortly after I got it, I met my fiance. So now it holds special meaning because it totally came true. I pinned it on my cubicle at work lol. My Fiance thinks I’m silly 😛

@MrsLongcoatPeacoat:  last year, I made my FH a little box at a paint it yourself pottery place. I bought some fortune cookies to fill it up a little, but now we put all our fortunes in the box and pick one out whenever lol. 🙂 i can’t remember any particular ones right now.

I only have one that I’ve kept for 5-ish years. It says, “Love is not jealousy.” I loved it and kept it.

I have three – all of which I got in a fairly short space of meeting my (now) Fiance. I have a clear phone case and they are facing out from the back of the case. They say:

“Contentment is just around the corner. Look forward!”

“Stop searching forever. Happiness is just next to you.”

and (FI’s favorite…)

“If it is meant to be, who are you to change that. Time to believe it.”

Funny thing is, on a trip back home last year, my 16 year old niece (in the middle of dinner at a restaurant) shrieked when she saw my phone and said “Mom, look…” and then held up both my phone and hers. Sure enough, we both keep our fortunes in our phone cases. I hadn’t seen her in over five years – and my sis is always telling me how much T is JUST LIKE me. Freaky. : )

omg this is so weird! I just signed a lease (today) on a new place and I was doing a final walk through and found a fortune on the bathroom mirror that said “love yourself first” and I was like huh, I like that lol.
