    I *hate* them. Unless I’m your mama, I don’t want a picture of you.

    I like getting photo holiday cards because I normally get them from family who live far away and I get to see how they are doing/how the children are growing, etc. I love them.

    I love getting photo cards. I keep them every year in a shoebox. I just throw the other ones out after the holidays. I don’t need to look fondly on a snowman in the future (unless they wrote a really nice note!) but I love looking back at photos of my cousins and friends from years ago.

    I enjoy getting most holiday card photos.  I do dislike the ones that were obviously taken in an exotic place or places, or doing some expensive or exclusive activity since those can all too easily come across as bragging.  Same goes for the holiday letters some people include.

    @californiabride2013:  Sorry, I don’t agree.

    Most photo cards have images of santa, reindeer, snowmen, snowflakes, Christmas trees etc on them anyway. I personally would much rather recieve a personalized photo card with images of the people I hold dear than a large sparkly card with a fat man in a red suit plastered all over it.

    Once the holiday is over I typically clip off the bottom “card” portion and save the photos throughout our home.

    I like getting them! At least from family… a lot of my family doesn’t have a Facebook (or a computer, even) so it’s fun to see pictures every year.

    I want to take a photo (first married xmas) but it’s getting late and I’m not sure we have time to take it, make cards, and send them out in time. I might just get snowman/santa/etc cards and slip a little 4×6 photo in each instead. That’s faster.

    I agree with all of the comments on this thread. I don’t mind if the photos are of kids or pets, but sometimes the photos seem so braggy and self-indulgent and un-Christmassy.

    My brothers play on a club hockey team in the OC, and my parents’ Christmas card table is bonkers. The hockey families all include multiple photos of extravagant vacations and new cars and boats and whatnot. You know, the stuff this season is all about!

    I’d rather receive a photo card of someone I know than a cartoon snowman with glitter all over it!

    I love getting Christmas cards with photo’s. I have family all over and it’s a nice way to keep up with how everyone is growing. I’m going to start an album with my Fiance and I christmas cards so we can look back 25 years and see how much our families have changed.

    @californiabride2013:  I don’t mind the one family picture ones if they have growing kids. Of course, my only friends who do that live far away, I never see their kids and they aren’t big into social media. So it’s nice to see their family grow (and keep up to date on how many kids they have (big Catholic families!)). But when they start sending a million pictures it bugs the heck out of me.

    But what bothers me WAY MORE is when they don’t even freaking sign them! What? Write SOMETHING. “lia- hope you’re having a great holiday season! <3 the Whatevers” isn’t going to kill you! WRITE IT OUT.

    I always send traditional Santa cards, but I love seeing photos on cards! Whenever I get them I’m not annoyed, I get to see how much the children have grown, I dunno I just like em!!

    @californiabride2013:  I love receiving the photo cards. I know what Santa and the Reindeer look like- they look the same every year. The children don’t.

    I may see pics on Facebook but I certainly don’t print them off to share with family and friends as we socialize over drinks etc.

    I like getting them personally.  If it doesn’t have a picture, it goes straight in my trash.
