I like getting cards in general, especially if one of them is Awkward Family Photos Worthy!

I prefer if the photo cards look Christmasy.  Christmas cards make up some of my Christmas decor.

I’ve also gotten quite a few loose photos inside the cards.  I love those if it’s for kids, an engagement or marriage.  I’ve recieved them from adults that weren’t celebrating a milestone though.  It doesn’t really bug me, but I do find it slightly odd.

I love them. Thought and effort have gone into them, much preferred over generic store-bought ones.

I enjoy getting mail and cards no matter what…only with the photo cards I don’t know what to do! I feel guilty about putting in the garbage, but I am totally not one to save sentimental stuff.I just can’t throw out pics of my niece and nephew…and I wish that I would get them as an actual photograph tucked into a card so I could put them in an album, without all that instagram writing overtop! Don’t get me wrong- I feel blessed to receive mail…just not my personal taste ๐Ÿ™‚

@bleusteel:  +1 I like getting the photo cards! But I don’t feel like it is anything new – growing up, my family always had a holiday card with a photo and we always received cards from other families with their pics.

My family always sends a family photo and a letter talking about what’s happened over the last year. I love the photo cards, but I wish more people would send letters or short notes about their year, because it’s so hard to keep up with everyone. Most of my family is not on Facebook and sometimes people get engaged/married/have a baby and we’d miss it completely without the Christmas cards!

@Nona99:  +1 This!  Awkward photos are the best.

Maybe the people I know are just awesome, but the photocards that we get for the most part are downright hilarious (intentionally).  The kid screaming on Santa’s lap, rocking out as “Santa’s Elves” by holding instruments and wearing Santa hats and sunglasses…  We get some nice ones.  I remember one year my family took pictures re-enacting Elf.  It can be a lot of fun.

But really, I just like receiving physical mail.  I’m old school like that.  It can be a store bought card, handmade card, photo card, letter, colored picture…  I love it all.

I’m happy to see that, judging from the poll results, only a quarter of the people that I will send Christmas cards to will go into a rage from seeing our faces again…  ๐Ÿ™‚

@Apple_Blossom:  Yeah..I mean, as long as you don’t mail me a bag of shit or a used tampon, I’m into it!  Who cares what it looks like, someone was thinking of you during the holidays, and if they want you to look at their naked asses in a steamcave, who cares?

I honestly thing I’m way more likely to throw away a card that has Santa on it than a card that has pictures of my friends and/or family. I appreciate them and like seeig how they and their children are going. It seems way more personal than a card with a generic picture.

@californiabride2013:  My Darling Husband was dressed as an elf this year…That is a photo card I am not going to regret sending everybody lol

I love getting photocards! If it is just a snowman then it will go right into the trash tin! Photo cards end up in a cute box that we pull out at the end of the holiday season. It is kinda cool to see families grow when we go through the box ๐Ÿ™‚

I would rather a regular holiday card with a handwritten note.. but if I get a photo card, which is about 90% these days, I HATE IT when it’s just the child/children. So, the parents don’t count anymore? I want to see my friends and family too, not just their kids!

I think it’s a bit strange that everyone’s okay if it has kids on it :/ So what happens if a couple chooses to not have kids….? My Fiance and I don’t plan on having kids for 4 – 5 years.

I enjoy receiving cards with photos of my loved ones. I love pictures, though. I’d hang 100 times more photos than I have if my fiance would let me ๐Ÿ™‚

I do feel guility throwing them away, though.

When people send the more generic cards, like a snowman or whatever, I usually save that portion so that I can reuse it for scrapbooking or a gift tag.

It would be nice to have a hand written note on the photo type cards rather than just their names preprinted.
